Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a **Mechanical Technician 2** , to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California. **This position is a 4 year apprentice program and 1st year will be on 2nd shift.**

The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform a variety of machinist responsibilities which may include but are not limited to the following:

+ Programming in MasterCam version 10 or higher, creating geometry or using Solid Models, IGES, STEP, DXF files, and 3 dimensional models.
+ Use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance per ANSI 14.5M 1982/1994 specifications to interpret true position and tolerance requirements.
+ Use FADAL, HAAS, Mazak or similar CNC milling and turning machines as well as using all manual support equipment and inspection tools to manufacture hardware.
+ Willingness to work overtime when needed to satisfy customer requirements. Ability and willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) required.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in a Mechanical/ Manufacturing environment **OR** completion of the El Camino Intern Program, Machine Tool Technology 95 in lieu of experience.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry

Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $83,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
