Position description
Performs analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
**A two-year commitment to this position is required**

Qualifications
For MT-Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Applicants with a Baccalaureate Degree in a science or health related field with completion of a clinical laboratory internship or clinical laboratory experience will be considered in the appropriate field of study (i.e. Microbiology).

'Applicants needing visa sponsorship must possess CGFNS Visa Screen certification upon application.'

For MLT- Associates degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.

**The MLT position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program for MLT.

Additional qualifications
Experience working in a medical field preferred. Moderate to advanced computer skills. Possess good written and oral communications skills. Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Willingness to travel to other MCHS locations for assignments as needed.
