MTS SOFTWARE ENGINEER LINUX & ANDROID GRAPHICS DEVICE DRIVER
THE ROLE:
AMD Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is an entrepreneurial research and development team to build AMD's future advanced platforms & products.
ATG is seeking passionate Android Graphics engineers to join our highly motivated mobile graphics software and firmware teams to develop AMDs next-generation graphics solutions for multiple industries.
You will design, develop, and optimize Android Graphics Solutions for AMD's next-generation mobile platforms with world-class graphics experts and system architects.
THE PERSON:
The successful candidate is an effective and organized communicator. The candidate makes contributions without prompting and investigates innovative solutions to technical challenges. The candidate has strong analytical skills with proven experience in developing for low level software environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design/Implement/debug Android BSP/HAL(Video, Audio, Display, IO) on x86 platform
Design/Implement/debug features in ANGLE, OpenGL ES, Vulkan and OpenCL on Android/Linux
Design/Implement/debug features in Xen/KVM and Qemu for GPU and IO virtualization in Android and Linux VM
Optimize GFX rendering and Compute performance on Android/Linux
Participate in, or lead design doc reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
Review code and provide feedback to ensure best practices
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Proven driver development on x86/ARM and C/C++ programming skills
Experience in Linux Kernel architecture and IO devices driver development and debug
Experience in AOSP HAL/BSP development and debug
Experience with Graphics, Compute, Display KMD/UMD and performance optimization on AOSP/Linux
Experience with Virtualization on Xen/KVM
Experience with AOSP upstream development and contributions
Strong problem-solving skills, a fast learner in new technical areas
Excellent written and oral English communication
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
