As Principal Engineer, you will lead and guide a diverse teamacross multiple geographical locations consisting of DevOps Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Testers, SW Engineers to drive our existing Data Platform forward. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: Optimize the deliveryof Data Platform tools and Services, in terms of both throughput and quality, by promoting and embedding lean manufacturing principles as appropriate Experience with DevOps and DataOps tools and processes(CI/CD, Automated Testing, Automated Provisioning) and an understanding of how applications/solutions leverage it Ensure project goals are achieved on time in alignment with the stakeholders expectation Work in close collaboration with other team members, to ensure Development/Delivery aspects are well represented in the projects requirements and deliverables Incorporate SAFe agile ways of working into the delivery process. Individuals will work as part of product-centric delivery team(s) that will focus on delivering value independently while fully embracing integrated DevOps approaches Take ownership for the delivery/development projects and help steer until completion Follow governance that allows projects and stakeholders to manage overall project performance and manage programme risks within the global nature of some of the programmes Ensure all risk and issues associated with owned projects are recorded and managed in the appropriate Risk & Issue logs in a timely manner. Ensure all Risks and Issues have clear action/mitigation/contingency plans defined, with named action owners and timelines for completion Be conversant with technical architecture to contribute to design discussions in partnership with the Product Director and Product Owners and dedicated Architect Why You? We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Extensive Software Engineering experience within complex industries and environments Experience as a Senior Azure Engineer in the Data & Analytics arena with demonstrated expertise in managing engineers to deliver Cloud technologies and data technology platforms and management MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or equivalent experience Experience with Azure Synapse, ADLS2 and ADF Fully conversant with agile and DevOps development methodology and concepts. Must have worked in CI/CD ways of working using tools like Azure DevOps Working knowledge of big data components like Spark, Kafka, Elastic Search, NoSQL technologies, and various file formats such as Avro, Parquet, etc. Experience with Agile delivery frameworks and tools: SAFe, Jira, Confluence Experience in cloud infrastructure as it relates to tuning and optimizing databases Experience with API, SDKs and third-party integration Tech Stack Azure Cloud, Azure Synapse, CosmosDB, ADLS2, Azure DevOps, Azure ADF Basic understanding in Cloud networking, hub and spoke model and express route for managing PAAS and COTs tool access Why GSK?
