M365 Substrate is critical to Microsoft 365 cloud strategy and it is experiencing tremendous growth, with 200 million monthly active commercial users and hundreds of millions of consumer users. The Substrate is a massively distributed cloud service with O(exabyte) data handled by O(100K) servers in O(100) data-centers around the entire globe.  

M365 Substrate Intelligence team is building state-of-the-art MLOps systems and AI infrastructure necessary to empower products such as MSTeams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and many others to build and operationalize intelligence features at scale in a seamless and homogenous fashion without compromising customer trust.  

  

We’re looking for an engineering manager for an incubation team with a strong background in machine learning and distributed systems, willing to work with a diverse set of AI projects in Microsoft. You should enjoy picking up new ML frameworks, developing novel yet practical solutions, and communicating with a diverse set of partners from both platform and product groups.   

You will work with petabytes of data, massive amounts of GPU compute, and address challenges of strong data privacy and responsible AI principles.  You’ll have the opportunity to guide our product to become the platform of choice for data scientists across M365.
