We are looking for you to join our team as a Mechanical Engineering Analyst based out of Woodland Hills, CA. As a Mechanical Engineering Analyst at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. **What Youll get to Do:**
In this role, candidates may be involved in multiple aspects in the development of aircraft subsystems, such as thermal and structural analysis, verifying requirements, test data post processing, and working to help troubleshoot issues. Candidates are expected to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. These aircraft subsystems include, but are not limited to, inertial navigation systems and instruments, shock isolation systems, electronics enclosures, gimbal systems, active heating systems, and liquid cooling systems.
Candidates may perform static, dynamic, and Durability and Damage Tolerance analyses of metallic and composite structures, mechanical systems, Circuit Card Assemblies, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program. Ensure that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives. The analyst may also be expected to derive non-flight applied loads, create, extract and distribute internal loads, and perform weight and stiffness optimization. Tools utilized may include NX, Ansys, FEMAP, Teamcenter and other software applications.
Candidate must be able to collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously, and comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Tasking includes performing system related analysis in support of the development of aircraft subsystems. Analysis includes, but not limited to, temperature assessments as influenced by structural heat transfer and heat sources, structural analysis of metallic and composite structures including modal analysis, steady state and transient responses to dynamic loads.
+ Tasking may include performing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis in support of aircraft subsystem integration and heat transfer modeling activities. May also include modeling fluid systems to assess fluid velocities and heat transfer coefficients over complex geometries.
+ Tasking may include system level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting.
+ Tasking may include system level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
+ Attend internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
+ The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

+ Experience performing structural and thermal analysis including temperature assessments as influenced by structural heat transfer and heat sources, structural analysis of metallic and composite structures including modal analysis, steady state and transient responses to dynamic loads.

+ Experience performing thermodynamic and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems.
+ Experience modeling in Siemens NX
+ Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
+ Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations.
Salary Range: $92,200.00 - $138,400.00Salary Range 2: $114,300.00 - $171,500.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
