Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload & Ground Systems, Strategic Force Programs in Azusa, CA, is seeking an innovative Principal (Level 3) or /Sr. Principal (Level 4) Systems Engineer to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system requirements and architectural modeling, and requirements and verification in support of the development of space payloads and ground systems. The organization supports space-based surveillance systems for varied missions including missile warning/defense and environmental monitoring. A qualified candidate will collaborate with diverse engineering teams across the product lifecycle from pre-proposal through product development, delivery, and sustainment to assist in understanding customer solution intent, establishing and managing the technical baseline, supporting system modeling, and developing content for review milestones. This role will report on-site daily. We can accommodate partial telework, but is dependent upon business/program need.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.
**Basic Qualifications: (Principal Level 3)**
+ Bachelors Degree in a STEM field with 5 years related technical experience in a Space/Defense industry position, OR a Masters Degree in a STEM field & 3 years of related technical experience in a space/defense industry
+ Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
+ SysML and Cameo expertise
+ Working knowledge of DOORS (Classic or Next Gen)
+ Experience/exposure to DODAF modeling
**Basic Qualifications: (Sr. Principal Level 4)**
+ Bachelors Degree in a STEM field with 9 years related technical experience in a Space/Defense industry position, OR a Masters Degree in a STEM field & 7 years of related technical experience in a space/defense industry
+ Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
+ SysML and Cameo expertise
+ Working knowledge of DOORS (Classic or Next Gen)
+ Experience/exposure to DODAF modeling
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Certificate or advanced degree in Systems Engineering
+ Masters Degree in a STEM field with 7 years (Sr. Principal Engineer) of experience in a Space/Defense industry position
+ Active DoD TS/SSBI clearance
+ Certificate in SysML and/or DODAF
+ DOORS experience including automation (DXL)
+ Experience with generating reports in Cameo utilizing VTL (Velocity Template Language)
+ Experience with generating customer-delivered DODAF views
+ Experience with related OMG schema such as the UML Testing Profile
+ Experience with modeling cyber-physical (hardware & software) solutions
+ Experience in an Agile modeling environment
Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00Salary Range 2: $125,800.00 - $188,600.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
