The Manufacturing Automation and Control Engineer has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to pursuing implementation of Automation and Industry 4.0/Digital Thread efforts and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) infrastructure in the manufacturing area. Responsible for planning and executing multiple projects at the same time and identifying new opportunities.

+ Implement connectivity to IT with OT/Engineering.
+ Implement automation solutions in a manufacturing environment
+ Design automated systems including end of arm tooling and safety sensors.
+ Program 6axis robots, machine vision, PLC, HMS, etc in support of automated systems.
+ Virtually commission/simulate processes.
+ Troubleshoot issues with automated cells.
+ Implement integral manufacturing distributed network hardware to provide equipment connectivity
+ Create and manage to project plans for automation development activities and ITOT efforts.
+ Integrate automation training for new systems with technicians
+ Ensure design intent and cost effectiveness of production are achieved
+ Develop and document system Acceptance Testing procedures
+ Assist with design of custom equipment, robots, and machine vision
+ Troubleshoot issues with PLCs, ladder logic, I/O, etc.
+ Review and support equipment safety risk assessments
+ Implement network connectivity solutions to legacy operating systems and test stations while working with Cybersecurity for compliance.
+ Recommend product design improvements to support automation or digital thread.

**Basic Qualifications for Automation Process Engineer**

+ Hands on experience using cameras for automated inspection (Cognex, Keyence, etc)
+ Hands on experience with Fanuc industrial and collaborative robots
+ Strong communication skills, digital organization skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
+ 3D Solid Modeling experience using a CAD software such as NX, CATIA, Solidworks
+ Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize, plan, and execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality results.
+ Demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify issues and solutions to those issues, and drive issues rapidly to closure.
+ Experience in architecture and programming of using a wide variety of Discrete I/O, Analog I/O, and communications to I/O data that can be transmitted or received to/from other controllers and devices via industrial communication protocols
+ Experience with Control Systems, configurations, and support (i.e. Siemens, Rockwell)
+ Ability to do basic/intermediate programming in other programming languages (i.e. C# or Labview)
+ Ability to obtain respirator certification
+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering and 2 or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ PLC programming experience
+ Industrial Automation Simulation Experience using tools like Siemens Process Simulate with OEM (ex. Fanuc Roboguide; Tecnomatix)
+ Experience with cyber security concepts and architectures for unclassified and classified environments.
+ Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (e.g., Cameo)
+ Experience with implementing IT/OT architectures for manufacturing shop-floor environments.
+ Understanding and proficiency with Profinet, SCADA/Industrial communication protocols (i.e., Modbus, EthernetIP, OPC, Bacnet)
+ Experience with HMI and GUI applications used to automate the control, collection, and transformation of operating data (OEE)
MANUMS

Salary Range: $71,500.00 - $107,300.00Salary Range 2: $88,000.00 - $132,000.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
