ABC News Longform is substantially growing its production output to produce narrative non-fiction content and news specials for the ABC network, Hulu and other Disney platforms. We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to work across the projects that make up the ABC News Longform portfolio. This Production Manager reports to the Senior Manager, Production Management and will be assigned to series and specials to facilitate the day-to-day needs of non-fiction show production. The Production Manager will play a key role in the management of production and post production for multiple projects. This role is responsible for working with assigned Line Producers to facilitate all areas of day-to-day production management while meeting creative and network expectations. This is a hands-on production role.
Ideal candidate can work quickly and efficiently across multiple projects simultaneously. Must have experience in working as a production manager on non-fiction series. This candidate will have a strong background in Production Management and Operations with a proven ability to plan and facilitate shoots, organize equipment rentals, and provide on-set production support. Knowledge of union and non-union rules and terms is preferred.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage day-to-day physical production aspects of all assigned productions during prep/shoot/post --including booking travel, helping with Risk Management/Foreign Compliance, liaising with Edit Ops and GFX teams and helping to create and complete deliverables
+ Work with the Line Producer to manage production budgets, schedules, and key paperwork for series and specials including maintaining and updating / standardizing templates (call sheets, schedules, production reports, etc), maintaining an approved vendor list, and other reporting as requested.
+ Work with the Line Producer to update budget costs trackers, staffing grids and other required documents as assigned, including reconciling/tracking expenses and ensuring expenses fit within Disney approved policies, sourcing multiple bids and quotes for multiple vendors as needed
+ Facilitate planning for shooting days in line with Disney and ABC News policies & guidelines, including hiring crew, renting equipment, locations agreements and other necessary logistical requirements.
+ Schedule project related production meetings.
+ Ensure communication and information distribution regarding projects to all relevant departments.
+ Manage insurance and risk processes, safety, covid protocols, and other day-to-day production logistics to maintain compliance with Disney policies
+ Hire BTL Staff and secure proper onboarding.
+ Team player, able to collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with bothcreative and production teams fostering an inclusive environment of cooperation and teamwork.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Minimum 4 years experience in the entertainment industry as a Production Manager working in non-fiction.
+ Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Flexible and ready to adapt to change.
+ Able to travel to work in person on set per a projects filming schedule.
+ In-depth, working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, File Sharing (Dropbox, Google, Box).
+ Strong ability to prioritize, plan, and solve problems within a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong leadership skills in managing teams and relationships to help facilitate consistency across multiple productions.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with international shooting and special requirements (boats, helicopters/drones, high profile talent, etc) preferred.

+ Bachelors degree from a 4 four-year accredited university or equivalent years of experience
