ABC News Studios is charged with producing narrative non-fiction multi-part series, documentaries, and specials for Hulu, ABC Network, Disney+ and National Geographic. We are seeking a Senior Manager to work closely with the Head of ABC News Studios to help define and execute strategy across the organization.
This strategic leader will assess the competitive marketplace to determine programming trends and provide data to the creative teams about which projects are working and which are not. They will help define content strategy for the Studio and support efforts to communicate that strategy across the broader ABC News organization and external production companies. This person will analyze performance data across the portfolio, provide context to the analysis and ensure it is reported out appropriately. This person will be an expert at interpreting data and building presentations that clearly communicates strategy and performance.
This person will have a comprehensive understanding of how programming strategies differ on linear and streaming platforms and will provide insights to the team on best fit platform for ideas in development. This person will also support the financial allocation of the portfolio and work together with the Finance team to optimize budgets.
This person will support the Head of ABC News Studios and SVP of Streaming and Digital to create a culture of excitement, optimism, transparency, and empathy. They will develop and help execute team building ideas, information sharing, and integration across departments.
Responsibilities:
+ Assess industry trends related to non-fiction programming
+ Develop and communicate programming and production strategy for all distribution platforms in the ABC News Studios portfolio
+ Assess performance of the ABC News Studios portfolio and define ways to communicate it to the Studios team and broader ABC News organization
+ Lead efforts to communicate and create transparency within Studios and across the broader organization
+ Support the integration of the departments within the purview of the SVP of Streaming and Digital
+ Maintain and communicate delivery and launch schedules for programs across ABC News Studios
+ Support the Head of ABC News Studios in many aspects of managing the Studios business
Skills:
+ Comprehensive understanding of linear and streaming media industry
+ Ability to identify trends in the industry and communicate how they affect ABC News Studios strategy
+ Strategic thinker with the ability to define and communicate strategy, but operate at a very detailed level
+ Excellent writing, Excel and Powerpoint skills
+ High emotional IQ, ability to create strong relationships with a diverse team, and exert influence
Preferred Qualifications
+ 5+ years professional experience
+ Experience in television programming or production roles
+ Experience in strategy consulting
+ BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university
