Program Director, SVB Private - Program Delivery

About the Role:
The Program Director - Program Delivery role will be responsible for ensuring that intended outcomes of Private Bank, Wealth and Core Banking related business and technology initiatives, varying in complexity and impact is successfully delivered. In this role you will work with business and technology leaders to understand their requirements, and drive alignment of the work and the involved teams to drive execution and delivery of the initiatives.
In this role, you will oversee around multiple teams working towards integration and other technology initiatives. You will provide direction to delivery teams comprising of Project Managers, Scrum Masters and/or Release Train Engineers where applicable across multiple portfolios and drive program management, resource planning, release planning, and timely delivery of initiatives. You will partner with the various leaders to build delivery roadmaps and drive execution against the roadmap with a cross functional team.
This is a senior role and the candidate must have strong leadership and influencing skills, and ability to be a transformational change agent for the company.
We are on a journey towards a scaled agile delivery practices. This position will play a key role in accelerating our journey within SVB and will report to the Program Delivery Head of Merger & Technology Integration.
Once Here You Will:
Manage multiple initiatives/programs of high complexity in a cross matrixed delivery environment
Work with key stakeholders to strategize and outline goals and objectives of the initiatives and establish a delivery roadmap
Align resources and manage to the initiative budget
Prepare and lead executive level briefing meetings that report on progress against key integration imperatives and facilitate the resolution of anticipated delays or implementation bottlenecks.
Provides thought leadership in Program management discipline
Act as the primary point of escalation across the initiatives being managed under this role
Coordinate cross-initiative alignment activities within the program and between other projects/programs
Plan, manage and report on integration execution timelines
Track program performance against goals and expected OKRs
Manage, lead and mentor project managers assigned to projects within the program
Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
Work to understand big picture and/or piece things together and considers both long/short term impact of work to the whole
Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited
Attract and mentor a highly performant team in an exciting, inclusive and collaborative environment
Drive continuous improvement and on-going development of the Program Delivery team operating model
Rigorously manage cultural integration and change management
What You'll Bring:
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
10+ years of hands-on experience in program/project management and delivery preferably with experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management and Shared Services organizations.
Experience leading Agile transformations and changing both organizational mindset and practices to an Agile way of working
Strong understanding of project management disciplines, governance processes, and executive reporting
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including both traditional waterfall and Agile delivery
Experience with Financial Services firms spanning business and technology domains
Outstanding written and verbal skills
Can switch from detail to big picture seamlessly
Excellent knowledge of change management principles
Proven experience managing multiple cross functional teams and shared services teams to drive delivery
Ability to solve complex problems with innovative solutions
Critical thinking and ability to be open to other points of view and new concepts
Ability to embrace change
Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
Proven financial acumen including an understanding of financial accruals, capitalization and depreciation practices, ROI and NPV
Effective collaboration and communication across all levels of the organization including senior executives.
Experience working in a global company, understanding team collaboration across different geographies, time zones and culture
Demonstrated experience in delivering complex programs and projects
Expert knowledge of Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, and familiarity with Jira and Confluence tools
Working knowledge of banking audit and regulatory practices; ensures that projects under their responsibility are fully compliant with corporate standards
