Disney Streaming encompasses the teams leading the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ streaming applications and services within the Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution group. Quality of Experience, at its core, is a measure of the end-to-end performance at the service level from the users perspective. The QE team strives to quantify the overall acceptability and service experience of an application/device that is live, in-store, in-market, in production. Leveraging online video analytics, proxy, and automation tools is key to this end goal. This department utilizes/leverages existing production monitoring tools with the aim of ensuring that QoE standards are consistently met across mobile/connected device client platforms and applications.
The QE Analyst is a member of the 24/7/365 Quality of Experience team. As part of this process, a QE Analyst must possess a deep understanding and knowledge of all Disney Streaming products and related hardware. In the case of failures, incident management, or proactive verification/validation procedures - the QE Analyst will not only offer reproducible steps, but is also capable of working with data capture analysis programs such as Charles Proxy, Catchpoint, Kibana, New Relic, and other supporting documentation in order to assist upstream teams with decreasing issue resolution time.

The QE Analyst will be required to perform a level-one type issue triage when business needs dictate and will also serve as a point person for production-based testing for Client Engineering and / or Operations teams requiring device verification across a variety of use cases.
The QE Analyst team is scalable, has access to a cloud-based device farm, a network of global testers, with which they can carry out QE tests 'in the wild' against predefined scenarios for which a combination of device type, app version or other specific conditions are required. Such feedback is collected, organized, categorized, prioritized and distributed amongst relevant teams.
In addition to cloud, remote resources, the QE Analyst will work locally in a newly launched device lab, which will contain various supported client platforms. The lab will be utilized for testing and support of all DSS products as well as analyzing region specific user aspects and behaviors. Hardware management and proper lab usage will be required responsibilities of the Analyst role.
The QE Analyst has a proactive approach to deeper data evaluation, metric trends, user behaviors, and client performance and where and how these are aligned within the overall scope of customer experience. The understanding of datasets within multiple disciplines and the management of data streams is required. The qualified candidate filling this role performs an issue diagnosis related to the 4 product domains of Media, Services, Data and Client.
The ideal applicant will possess the ability to examine data files for faster issue resolution. They will have a great work ethic, strong communication skills, an intense dedication to detail and a familiarity with online software, programs, mobile applications and data flows. A familiarity with mobile and connected devices and some technical knowledge of the video streaming process is necessary.
+ Responsible for analyzing daily reports to assist in identifying anomalies and regressions. JIRA ticket creation and sharing with appropriate stakeholders.
+ Responsible for collecting statistical user data and developing detailed documentation of products for the entire department. This includes the maintenance of platform product specifications and tracking new trends within environments.
+ Must be able to identify trends in data and perform analysis with regards to platform performance for Product Feature Releases, Territory and Market Launches and Premiere Content.
+ Will lead the debugging effort within the production environment by leveraging proxy tools and debug application builds. This role must also conduct research into live product problem solving specific to mobile and connected device applications.
+ Will work closely with a QE Integration Specialist and will also deal with the design and maintenance of the matrix of complex documentation. Providing insight into implementation details and setting best practices so that the team may gain a better understanding of the platform/product and have the ability to solve problems in a structured manner (with the assistance of documentation).
**Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:**
Minimum and Preferred. Inclusive of Licenses/Certs (include functional experience as well as behavioral attributes and/or leadership capabilities)
+ Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology or related fields.
+ Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, a plus.
+ Flexible hours, but must be available to work at night, at weekends and on public holidays if necessary.
+ Strong understanding of all Disney Streaming products.
+ Strong understanding of SQL
+ Working knowledge of data visualization tools
+ Familiarity with JSON, XML and other data files.
+ Familiarity with Proxy Tools & debugging software from Disney Streaming.
+ Experience with statistical reporting using analytical software such as Conviva and Google Analytics.
