Regulatory Reporting Finance Sr. Group Manager

The Finance Reporting Sr. Group Manager position is an integral member of the Global Regulatory Reporting Group (GRR). The GRR Group is a high profile function, providing financial information to the regulators including the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The position will report directly to the head of CRR, have a high level of visibility within the organization with opportunities to work directly on a regular basis with Management and will also interact very closely with other groups throughout Citi, including Risk, Treasury, Controllers, SEC Reporting, Accounting Policy, Financial Planning & Analysis, Capital Planning, Chief Data Governance Office (CDGO), and Finance & Risk Shared Services. The position is responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team in an effort to implement, integrate, and execute new processes and controls (e.g. standardized restatement processes for US Bank Regulatory Reports, report effectiveness metrics, cross-report checks etc.) for CRR as part of the broader Consent Order initiatives. The position will also require providing subject matter expertise from a regulatory report production perspective on the design of various key deliverables for the Consent Order.


Key Responsibilities:


+ Lead a team that is primarily responsible for Consent Order (CO) execution for US Bank Regulatory Reporting.

+ Collaborate cross functional stakeholders across CO deliverables and deliver requirements for CO milestones.

+ Lead the implementation of controls that require more senior engagement (e.g., increasing attestation and sign-off requirements across reporting pillars) and perform robust review and challenge during IA validation of CO milestones.

+ Ensure consistent assessment, implementation, and documentation of change management for US Bank Regulatory reports.

+ Chair change management forum for key BCBS reports to include report preparers, technology, data providers, and other key internal stakeholders to ensure changes are appropriately assessed and implemented.

+ Provide ongoing subject matter expertise from a regulatory report production perspective by participating in various CO workstreams to help design key deliverables

+ Engage with internal audit or regulators on implementation of new processes or controls as part of the CO and demonstrate how they reduce risk in the reporting environment


This individual will have an opportunity to work with over 50 team members across NY and Tampa, primarily consisting of MBAs and CPAs, who are engaged with and supportive of one another and in an environment, which promotes and sustains continuous development and growth.


Corporate Regulatory Reporting Groups mission is to provide complete and accurate consolidated financial statement analysis and other related information to the regulators, investors, outside analysts and senior management on a timely basis and in the most efficient manner possible.


Qualifications


+ Minimum 15 years of Financial Reporting experience, preferably US Regulatory Reporting experience.

+ Proven track record in leading or managing remediation efforts in high profile environments for large global financial institutions.

+ Strong familiarity with Regulatory Reporting and GAAP/SEC financial reporting.

+ Prior Big 4 or large consulting / advisory firm experience helpful.

+ Strong leadership experience, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make key, timely decisions.

+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a concise, succinct manner to all organizational levels.

+ Successfully work and partner across multiple functions (e.g. Controllers, Finance, Technology) in a large global financial institution.

+ Well-developed and seasoned leadership qualities, capable of leading and developing a high performing team, formally defining roles and responsibilities within that team, and coaching/mentoring staffs skill development.

+ Ability to innovate and champion progress for efficiency and productivity.

+ Ability to analyze and think through highly complex issues. Appropriately execute and implement against a well thought through framework in a seamless manner.

+ Highly motivated and goal-oriented with ability to lead in a professional and challenging environment and deliver results against fast-paced deliverable deadlines.

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding time frames and respond appropriately and competently to the demands of work challenges when confronted with changes, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures.

+ Flexibility to work under pressure to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines.

+ Outstanding presentation, communication, interpersonal and coaching skills.

+ Ability to develop effective and productive working relationships with a wide range of groups across Citi as well as external auditors and regulators.

+ Strong strategic thinking skills.

+ Project Management experience preferred.

+ Experience with systems implementation and automation a plus.

+ Technology savvy Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

+ Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required.

+ CPA/MBA preferred.
