Position description
The Slager/Braggio/Wang research program in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia is seeking a Research Technologist with a bachelors degree who has a strong desire to learn state-of-the-art technologies. We employ technologies including GWAS, CUT&Tag, CUT&RUN, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, CRISPR, and integrative bioinformatic analyses to explore the functional importance of genetic/epigenetic regulation in CLL progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments.

  • Collects, enters, and summarizes data.

  • Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.

  • Ability to prepare tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data.

  • Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts.

  • Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.

Qualifications:

  • An understanding of basic lab techniques, equipment, and safety.

  • The ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting.

  • The preferred candidate would have experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, cell sorting and purification. Although will be taught if not known.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail is important

  • Must have the ability to keep track of, and organize, numerous samples and associated results electronically (i.e., MS Excel, MS PPT, etc) and manually (via storage in freezers).

  • Experience with basic data analysis using MS Excel or other programs (i.e., Prism Graph) is preferred.

This is a limited tenure position that has been approved for one year. If successful, the position has an opportunity turn into a regular position.



Qualifications
Requires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant science.

This position has an anticipated end date of 6/30/2023.

Additional qualifications
Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.
