The Senior Clinical Research Technologist serves as a bench technologist for the laboratories in the research laboratories performing CLIA licensed clinical diagnostic tests. Bench duties include acquiring and logging in samples, performing, interpreting and resulting assays. The Senior Clinical Research Technologist understands and possesses the knowledge and skillset to perform the higher complex levels of testing and analysis required for clinical diagnostic testing. They will be responsible for maintaining the instrumentation, software, and databases that are laboratory specific and necessary to remain compliant to federal guidelines. In addition, this position will participate in research involving the development and validation of new clinical assays.
Additional Duties:
Training and mentoring new technologists, maintaining inventory, software, equipment, databases, and assisting the lab director/manager to ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA and JCAHO requirements.
The Senior Clinical Research Technologist will implement technologies and software for patient testing.
This position is also responsible for providing progress and update reports to the lab manager and director.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or MT with equivalent experience
Knowledge of Q.C. and Q.A. as applied to clinical diagnostic testing; experience with clinical lab procedures required of a CAP and/or CLIA certified laboratory
