TriCities, ER, a satellite emergency room of John Randolph Medical Center (JRMC), is staffed with board certified physicians and nurses who are ready to deliver quality care. As a department of JRMC, TriCities ER can easily transfer a patient if more specialized care to the hospital if needed.
Our ER offers:
A separate pediatric entrance and waiting area
11 private treatment rooms
CT, Digital Ultrasound, digital diagnostic and portable X-rays
On-site lab
Telemedicine technology with specific focus on stroke care and behavioral health
Our 11,000 square-foot Free Standing ER is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year offering expert, convenient care for the entire family including for the communities of Price George, Fort Lee, Colonial Heights and Petersburg. We have the capability to treat a range of emergencies from less complex cases like stitches and broken bones, to more life threatening emergencies like chest pain and potential stroke.

What will you be doing?
Demonstrates clinical competence and serves as resource and mentor for staff.
Assumes responsibility for decisions and actions in the lead clinical role.
Conducts thorough and complete orientation of all incoming employees in a timely manner.
Provides opportunities for employee development.
Communicates effectively with staff, peers, director, and external and internal customers.
Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve unit/department process.
Maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.
Pursues own professional growth and development.
Manages expenses to stay within budgetary guidelines.
Works with Director to monitor productivity and explain variances.
Assists Director in maintaining payroll records and transmits payroll to meet deadlines when needed.
Supervises and maintains equipment and implements infection control measures in accordance with applicable safety standards to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with RN Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing required. BSN degree or currently enrolled in BSN Program preferred.
Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or RN compact state license required.
Current certification as an American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider.
ACLS and PALS certifications required within 6 months (180 days) of hire or start date in position.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Current TNCC certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Department setting with demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management skills required.
