Assembly Media Inc., a subsidiary of Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc., is looking for a Senior Account Executive to join the Xbox Content Team, supporting Xbox Game Studios titles and primarily the Minecraft franchise. Not only will this role support one of the most-played and community-driven video games in the world,it will also support the franchise's expansion into new genres ( Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Legends, Minecraft: Education Edition) , as well as partnerships with a roster of organizations including the likes of the World Wildlife Fund, the Nobel Peace Center, PUMA and Lacoste.
We're looking for someone who can support the execution of strategic global communications campaigns across a variety of consumer audiences and identify impactful stories that will help to evolve the perception of and conversation about the Minecraft franchise in areas like community, social good and policy. This role will provide a diverse client base with expert counsel in integrated communications, content creators, media and creator/influencer relations, product reviews, story and content development, and launch/event planning.
As a Senior Account Executive, we're looking for someone who aspires to aid in growing the business and to set culture through actions and viewpoints. Gaming experience/interest is highly encouraged but not required; hands-on experience with reaching consumer audiences, particularly through earned media and owned storytelling, is a must-have.
Responsibilities:
Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content, and lead the creation of communications plans that meet client objectives
Manage junior staffers and foster their growth and development
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of clients' businesses and their missions as well as their key stakeholders: consumers, media, partners, etc.
Manage multiple projects from conception to completion by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence
Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media and creator relations, including creating and driving outreach plans, message development, management of events, effective pitching and training of spokespersons and growth of contact network
Build level-appropriate understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape and how they impact clients
Manage comprehensive coverage monitoring; prepare accurate and timely client reports and provide thoughtful analysis and feedback on results
Pushes for creative ideas; is purposeful and enterprising in problem-solving; embraces diverse trends, skills, specialties, and viewpoints
Demonstrates a strategic and thoughtful approach in challenging others to ask the right questions
Basic Qualifications:
At least two years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including public relations, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing, preferably within an agency setting
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
Proven ability to manage large projects and small teams on one or more sizable accounts
Experience working with content creators on behalf of a brand
Solid knowledge of the media landscape within the gaming and tech industry is ideal. Experience with PC gaming industry is a plus. Strong relationships with reporters covering the space is a double bonus
Understand the role media and industry analysts play in shaping perceptions, and know how to effectively tap them to achieve a range of client goals (or blunt potentially negative coverage)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to delegate tactical assignments and accurately judge and edit work of others
Familiar with best practice integrated Communications Marketing tactics and tools and will be able to recommend them to his/her clients
