Plans, organizes, and directs the activities in support of the design and implementation of data and analytics projects and initiatives at both the department and enterprise level that are in alignment with the department's mission and vision. Oversees Business Intelligence Specialists and works to provide advanced analytics and information solutions to ensure that clinical systems, data and information projects enhance quality and patient safety, and improve efficiency and patient engagement.

Job Responsibility

1.Provides strategic advice and guidance to inform system level strategies and significant external entities.
2.Consults with senior leadership, stakeholders, end users and the HCA staff in the design, development, and delivery of effective Business Intelligence (BI) solutions including metrics, reports, dashboards, or other solutions as appropriate.
3.Manages initiatives that impact business outcomes through business intelligence, data warehousing, reporting and analytics solutions.
4.Interacts with interdepartmental leaders, both financial and clinical, to assess needs, leverage resources and ensure accurate project deliveries.
5.Regularly makes decisions under minimal to no guidance that have significant impact on financial and business operations.
6.Partners with leaders in the Health Systems analytics community and HCA to ensure proper planning to address data delivery and reporting requests.
7.Analyzes and evaluates end users analytic needs, translates business requirements into detailed design specifications, and develops user-friendly BI solutions to support self-service analytics.
8.Selects methods, techniques or criteria for data validation and solution evaluation procedures. Verifies accuracy, utility, and quality of delivered solutions.
9.Investigates and tests new analytic solutions or products, as necessary.
10.Helps identify organizational impediments and works with team members and leadership to create effective strategies to overcome them.
11.Devises new methods and procedures to address complex to highly complex issues using strong analytic and inductive thinking.

Job Qualification

Bachelor's Degree required.
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
10+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
