Overview: This Senior Data Analyst position is responsible for managing data & reporting projects and delivering analytical insights in support of the Small Business Actuarial team. The role is based in our Jersey City, NJ office (location flexible) and reports to the Lead Actuary & Sub-Domain Leader for North America Small Business. This role can be placed in the Actuarial track. There is the opportunity for this position to be remote.
Duties And Responsibilities
Provide data preparation and data management support to Small Business Actuarial Team across all product lines: BOP, Umbrella, Commercial Auto and Workers Compensation
Develop dashboards and analytical tools to support actuarial rate monitoring and underwriting portfolio monitoring
Work with the predictive analytics team to support Small Business pricing modeling and underwriting initiatives
Collaborate with data scientists and vendors to evaluate third party data
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Special projects and other ad-hoc requests
Qualifications
BS Degree or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance or a related field
3+ years of relevant experience in data, analytics, actuarial or a related field
Experience processing & manipulating policy and claim level data of Property & Casualty insurers a plus
Extensive experience with relational databases, and strong ability to write complex queries in SQL.
Expert or proficiency in a programming language such as Python or R
Demonstrated experience with a data visualization tool (Qlik, Looker, Tableau, etc.)

Familiarity with concepts in statistics and data science
