The Data Engineer is an Intermediate Level programmer responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of data flow channels and data processing systems that support the collection, storage, batch and real-time processing, and analysis of information in a scalable, repeatable, and secure manner in coordination with the Data & Analytics team. The overall objective is defining optimal solutions to data collection, processing, and warehousing. He/She designs, codes and tests data systems and works on implementing those into the internal infrastructure.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Ensuring high quality software development, with complete documentation and traceability
+ Promoting unit/functional testing and code inspection processes
+ Working with business stakeholders and Business Analysts to understand the requirements
+ Working with data scientists to understand and interpret complex datasets
+ Assisting the provision of task breakdown and estimates
**Qualifications:**
+ Must have minimum of 10 years experience in data warehousing and business intelligence projects.
+ Must have minimum of 4-5 years experience in data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical data models)
+ Must have modelled business requirements using Use Case and ER modelling techniques
+ Must have experience in performing reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts
+ Must have experience in implementing PDM in at least two different databases.
+ Should have exposure to advanced DWH concepts (data quality, lineage, master data management, metadata management, data security.. etc)
+ Must have experience in designing 3N, Star, Snowflake schemas and Data Marts.
+ Good to have exposure to NoSQL databases
+ Must have exposure to Bigdata technologies
+ Must have experience in modelling in Hive.
+ Must have experience in dimensional modelling, entity relationship data modelling
+ Must have excellent query writing and tuning experience
+ Must have managed a team of least three database developers
+ Must have banking domain experience
+ Must have hands on exp in using Erwin Data Modelling tool or Magic Draw
+ Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with tech/non-tech stakeholders.
+ Experienced in software development life cycle and good problem-solving skills.

+ Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or similar domain
