Role Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Beam Suntory's Global HR team, which ranks among the highest in engagement across the company, works across the matrixed organization to develop and deliver talent strategies that enable the company's ambitious growth strategies.

This critical senior director role provides the overall global strategic leadership for the company's short- and long-term HR technology and digital transformation, while advancing the people analytics capabilities to turn data into insights and impact. The Senior Director People Technology & Analytics will oversee a global team of 10 who are responsible for driving HR digital transformation and leveraging analytics to inform talent, DEI, Total Rewards and engagement strategies across the organization. This leader is also charged with ensuring all people data in the organization is secured and meet the company's high data security standards.

This role requires an experienced leader who has proven ability and experience translating strategic HR / Talent priorities into technology and analytics objectives. A successful candidate must also be able to engage our HR leadership team as a champion for digital transformation and tell the story of how technology and analytics will accelerate delivery of HR strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The new Senior Director Global People Technology & Analytics will provide leadership to the HR organization and leaders in the business on the overall people technology strategy in the areas of data analytics, digital technologies and data security. This new leader will leverage modern systems and technology to improve the company's people operations and processes in a manner that provides measurable business benefits and drives effectiveness, efficiency and work enablement in the Global HR function. Critically important, the Sr. Director HR Technology & People Analytics will be a key partner to enable and support the digital strategy, given that digital and technology have the potential to impact every step of Beam Suntory's value chain, enabling the company to accelerate growth and drive out cost.

The new Senior Director Global People Technology & Analytics must bring a strong blend of business and technical skills, as well as an understanding of current and emerging technologies. He or she must develop a strong working relationship with the Chief Technology Officer / Global IT team as well as the VP Digital Products & Experience and his respective digital transformation team.

Specific oversight includes:

HR Technology / HRIS

  • Working with the Director of Global HRIS and HR Data Security, provide strategic leadership for an HRIS team of five employees experiencing high demand for their services across SuccessFactors modules and other key system interfaces that rely on the company's core people data.

  • Provide strategic guidance on development of the three-year HRIS roadmap, budget planning, project delivery and oversight of results to ensure maximum value creation and execution with excellence.

  • Provide resource management decision-making to address sustained demand for high priority projects.

  • Provide strategic guidance on the organization structure, including roles & responsibilities, needed for HRIS & Analytics to deliver on requests, considering our unique organization culture and structure.

  • Enhance the relationship across the HR function, including leadership, HR business partners, COEs (Total Rewards and Talent/Development), HR Operations and Diversity/Equity/Inclusion, by educating key stakeholders on the technology opportunities to enable HR to have greater impact on the organization.

  • Provide strategic direction on the maturity of our HRIS landscape; make recommendations to advance HR's delivery model and ensure we focus on high-value tools that enhance our effectiveness and employee experience.

  • Working with IT and Legal, ensure utmost protection and security of all people data.

  • Assess key HR projects to identify and recommend opportunities to use a formal project management approach to deliver on objectives. Provide expertise to mature project management processes, methods, and tools to improve project delivery.

  • Define the team's competency needs, e.g., technology architecture, testing, security, database analysis, business analysis, project management, etc., and develop plans collaboratively with the team to increase overall competency levels.

  • Lead creation of future business cases for additional investments needed in technology or resources.

Analytics

  • Provide strategic and direct team leadership to the newly formed Analytics team of three employees who are experiencing fast growing demand for their services.

  • Provide guidance to the team and to HR leaders on the further development of advanced analytic solutions and capabilities.

  • Strengthen HR competency and capability in their ability to turn data into meaningful insights and impact for the business.

  • Make recommendations regarding the delivery of metrics, dashboards, reports, etc., that enhance talent and DEI insights and decision making.

  • Partner with HRIS, IT, Business Analytics, vendors, etc. to define the technology strategy to deliver tools and solutions that enable the ability to scale and mature our analytics capabilities.

  • Advance analytic capability within the function to progress toward predictive analytics.


Qualifications & Experience

Leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy in a global, multi-division $10B company

  • 10+ years in progressively broader leadership roles

  • Ability to lead teams of direct reports, develop employees, enhance engagement and build an inclusive culture

  • Excellent consultative skills, with the ability to understand business needs and translate those needs to strategies and actionable plans

  • Experience translating insights and recommendations into the language of the business, often at the executive level

  • Strong passion to solve business problems leveraging technology and data

  • Demonstrated ability to drive programs to successful completion, including building productive, cross-functional relationships, aligning objectives and achieving desired outcomes

Functional Experience & Expertise

  • 10+ years working in an IT or HRIS capacity in increasing levels of scope and responsibility

  • 2+ years of experience working with a cloud-based HR system, preferably SuccessFactors

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field related to HRIS

  • Deep understanding of HR data

  • Experience building a People Analytics strategy, team and processes

  • 3+ years of hands-on expertise in data analytics, data visualization, business intelligence, reporting, statistical analysis

  • Knowledge of a variety of analytics tools and methods to deliver people analytics

  • Experience working in a global organization and managing the nuances of specific local cultures

  • Experience implementing or using a workforce planning platform is a plus
