Qualifications
The Senior Editorial Supervisor will independently lead the editorial component of one large account or multiple mid-size client accounts with minimal supervision, driving content development and coordinating all aspects of editorial projects. S/he will be well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize, and possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Basic Qualifications
The Senior Editorial Supervisor must possess proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have a minimum of 6 years' experience in medical writing, editing, and/or publishing.
Preferred Qualifications
A candidate with experience or a strong interest in medical communications and/or Ophthalmology is preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Client Servicing:
Manage content development and coordinate all editorial aspects of multiple editorial projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
Identify and resolve problems that could damage client relationships or affect the outcome of projects
Identify and obtain resources to complete projects on time and on budget
Facilitate client/author conference calls and meetings
Chief contact with clients and authors regarding overall editorial project issues, and satisfactory fulfillment of their expectations
Play a key role in strategic development for all accounts
Develop, articulate, and implement editorial tactics to meet client goals
Assemble independently a robust SWOT analysis
Take a big-picture view of the editorial aspects of each account rather than just thinking on a project-by-project basis
Keep the team/supervisor informed of all client issues
Manage freelance writers
Participate in the creation of new business proposals through research, brainstorms, and articulation of strategies and tactics
Edit and draft editorial publications with regard to content, tone, and style
Write scientific communication projects including slide kits, abstracts, posters, etc
Edit all agency- and client-generated documents to ensure they meet client needs/expectations
Develop clear, crisp, strategic communications (eg, client memos, plans, emails, etc)
