Bose Corporation's Consumer Electronics Product Engineering (CEPE) has a tradition of crafting innovative wireless headphone, and mobile speaker products!
We are seeking a highly-motivated, dedicated and experienced individual to lead a team of embedded software engineers in Wireless Headphones Group. As a Technical Embedded Software Engineer Lead at Bose, you will be running, developing and supporting software to bring our next generation of headphone products to life! We work collaboratively as part of multi-functional project teams.
Team Lead Responsibilities:
Analyze sophisticated technical problems and propose design of comprehensive solutions
Responsible for the daily operation of the embedded software team locally, 3rd parties, and remote and ensure collaboration you're doing meet project needs
Review, evaluate, code inspect, and mentor the team to adhere to the product definition and intended user experiences. This requires close and proactive collaboration with other subject areas
Deliver successful transfer of software design into manufacturing for headphone product
Contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, test coordination, release, support, and documentation.
Drive the group to develop automated acceptance tests for user interface, embedded components, and application software components
Lead and empower a development team coupled with strong communications skills
Occasional travel may be required to support interoperability test events, meetings with 3rd party software providers or prototype builds
Requirements:
Experience with C in an embedded environment
Experience with electrical components such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and USB
Experience with an embedded RTOS such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, LynxOS, QNX, Linux
Experience with source code management (SCM) tools (Subversion, Git, Perforce, etc.)
Expertise with basic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, etc.)
Knowledge and exposure to basic hardware design and can read a schematic
Familiarity with Bluetooth and BTLE embedded communication stacks
Familiarity with battery management and battery charging circuits
Education:
BSEE/BSCS/BSCE with a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
