This role will be responsible for modelling and analyzing field compensation mechanisms for purposes of contract administration/recruiting support, monthly compensation reconciliations, and developing system requirements & test plans. Other responsibilities include project work and proposing edits to field contracts and other field-facing documentation that includes compensation rules.
Major Opportunities and Decisions:
The successful Field Compensation Analyst will develop a strong technical understanding of how compensation mechanisms work, both in terms of the contract language and how our systems process the rules. The complexities and interdependencies involved must be fully mapped and navigated deliberately. This includes compensation paid to agency heads, producers, middle-managers, wholesalers, and others. Lines of business include Life, Individual Disability, Park Avenue Securities and Annuities.
Compilation and analysis of data from disparate sources will form the basis for ensuring that comp is paid correctly; must be proficient in the use of Excel and other reporting tools. Must have strong communication skills and ability to explain complex matters clearly, concisely, and accurately.
This role is very important to Guardians goal of Securing the Future of Distribution, in that it will focus heavily on analysis and modelling of producer economics, with specific attention to helping Field Representatives understand the value of their potential future renewals, including after retirement. Key efforts will include: Using existing tools to project future compensation, developing and systematizing new and improved tools to support that work, building/improving/maintaining custom models in Excel, working with IT to develop new modelling tools, and researching/formulating/validating key assumptions that drive analysis.

5+ years of corporate experience in an analytical role (insurance industry preferred)
