The following position is open in Chicago, Illinois - Senior Manager - US Commercial FP&A

The individual will be involved in a variety of high-profile tasks and projects designed to ensure the company continues to run efficiently from a financial standpoint. They will promote the utilization of streamlined and uniform analytical and reporting processes across the commercial organization. The role allows for a large degree of exposure to senior leaders, the chance to develop and grow a team of analysts, an emphasis on cross collaboration among departments, and a strong sense of process ownership.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr. Director of North America FP&A, this position has direct oversight of the commercial budget, forecast, and reporting processes for the US. This individual will be a key member of the North America Finance team, partnering with Commercial Sales and North America Finance leadership to ensure Beam Suntory achieves their strategic and financial objectives by providing comprehensive decision support through financial analysis and business acumen.

Key responsibilities include annual planning, forecasting, management reporting preparation, and analyzing results to provide insightful analysis into key P&L drivers and underlying trends. There will be an emphasis on collaboration with regional teams to understand variances verse expectations.

Additional details on the Outcomes/Success Criteria

  • Provide analytical support and monthly reporting to the executive leadership team regarding the Commercial P&L, annual plan, forecast, in-year risks and opportunities, and execution of allocated and limited high margin product offerings.

  • Lead the development and execution of the annual US depletion budget & forecasting processes.

  • Provide meaningful insights through rigorous financial analysis which will help influence business decisions

  • Become a knowledge expert of the tools and reporting suites (Anaplan, EDW, Tableau, Power BI, SAP, ect)

  • Coordinate, develop, maintain, and distribute monthly standard reporting for both internal and external reporting purposes

  • Develop a team of finance professionals by setting performance goals and providing coaching on a regular basis

  • Preparation for monthly business review meetings and other associated presentations

  • Drive continual improvement of reporting and processes with the ultimate goal of providing consistent, timely, and value-added analysis of management results

  • Responsible for ad hoc projects and analysis as needed and appropriate

  • Have the ability and passion to distill and share knowledge with new commercial business partners who might not have a strong understanding of financials

  • Lead the close process for commercial P&L

  • Support goal setting exercises

  • Manage the innovation commercial forecast process. Providing clear visibility on future sales expectations to marketing, supply chain and innovation teams.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Required. MBA a plus

  • 7+ Years of experience

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and Excel skills required

  • Ability to conceptualize and think creatively

  • Knowledge of Anaplan cloud base planning software, SAP financial applications and systems preferred, but not required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (candidate will develop and maintain key working relationships within the organization that cross over commercial, strategy, RGM, operations, IT and marketing)

  • Specific experience in the spirits, beverage, or consumer reports business would be a plus
