Tableaus Cloud Engineering Product Management team needs a versatile Senior Product Manager who shares our passion to deliver scalable services and capabilities to delight our Tableau Cloud customers. This PM position plays a key role in defining and crafting Tableau Clouds infrastructure and foundational services strategy so more users can easily discover and use the power of Tableau to answer questions of their data. Our teams goal is to provide the platform for Tableau Clouds development and growth. Youll be working with outstanding engineers and working across the Tableau and Salesforce organizations to deliver serious value to our customers, business, and developers.
We are seeking a customer and design-obsessed PM with the drive, experience, and passion to take our products to the next level of success.
In this role, youll work closely with a variety of internal and sometimes external partners to understand problems, define use cases, and drive the strategy for evolving what and how we use cloud infrastructure to power and protect Tableau Cloud. Throughout the SDLC you will work across the organization to find opportunities, gather, scope, and prioritize requirements, and ultimately deliver product features and capabilities that customers and developers love.
Some of the things youll be doing include
Lead the product strategy and roadmap, so customers can see and understand their data with Tableau at scale.
Extensively partner with engineering teams to prioritize and drive feature specification and design (mostly internally but as well as externally with partners).
Engage with strategic customers as a Tableau trusted advisor to ensure their success, manage escalations, requirements analysis and product planning activities.
Collaborate with product marketing, operations and business teams on positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.
Collaborate with release management, incident management, and site reliability teams to ensure roll out of changes has minimal impact on our customers.
Qualifications:
5+ years software industry experience as PM or a customer facing role delivering value to customers.
Top notch written and oral communication skills, including experience addressing executive leadership, participating in the sales cycles, evangelizing product strategy, and handling critical customer issues.
Strong collaboration, influence, and negotiation skills to align the organization around prioritization and delivery of product roadmap.
Exceptional time management skills to effectively juggle multiple demanding priorities
Consistent track record to deliver on commitments.
Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others.
Demonstrated experience in gathering and redefining product requirements into a practical product roadmap.
Comfortable diving in when tactical requirements necessitate.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience and solid understanding of standard processes in building scalable and highly available services in the Cloud
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure technologies, preferably AWS, such as HAProxy, Simple Email Service, Kubernetes, etc
Experience with governance models and implementation for multi-tenanted SaaS services
Confidence and ability to talk directly with customers and represent the company when needed
Proven ability to work in a deeply technical space, working both with internal development teams and external customers.
