The Senior Project Management Engineering Specialist will serve as an individual contributor with responsibility in our Operations CTOR functional group to advance existing technology or introduce new technologies and therapies. The candidate will formulate, deliver and/or manage work packages assigned and work with other stakeholders to achieve defined results. The majority of time is spent delivering RD Systems or deliverables related to new technologies or therapies from design to implementation while adhering to policies using specialized knowledge and skills.
The Senior Project Management Engineering Specialist responsibilities include contributions to design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and provide technical skills to aid with the research and new product development. The candidate is expected to plan, coordinate, and execute various portions of project management and aid with engineering technical problem solving.
A Day in the Life
Develop an approach and solution to your assigned work packages. Take work direction from Core Team Operations Representative (CTOR) as part of a cross-functional Operations team. May be asked to autonomously lead a small Business Process Improvement project or a Released Product Engineering improvement implementation. Successful candidate will be able to execute state of the art project management practices by proactively applying established Predictive Engineering Tools and implement best practices that are deployed to enable the flawless launch of a new product.
Project Management Responsibilities
Plan the scope, budget, and MS Project schedule for your assigned work packages in collaboration with the Core Team Operations Representative, or project sponsor.
Plan, document, and execute MS Project schedules that integrate multiple Operations Functions to achieve a significant milestone toward product development or implementation.
Schedule and Lead team meetings as necessary.
Maintain accountability to the scope, cost and schedule, you have been asked to manage; involve others to assist with removing barriers.
Innovation, Complexity Technical Rigor
Solves difficult problems that may require understanding of multiple issues, job areas, or specialties.
Make improvements to processes or products for efficiency or other gain.
Conduct in-depth analysis to provide recommendations on process improvements.
Know and practice Design, Reliability, and Manufacturability (DRM) scientific practices for New Product Development. Experienced execution in Design for Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma are similar concepts
Use established technical practices for project management (e.g. Schedule predictions)
Demonstrate strong problem solving skills technical rigor for DRM
Communications and Influence
Communicates primarily with Operations Extended Team members and functional leadership.
Clear, concise, and simplified written and public speaking communication delivered with confidence.
Communications often are used to communicate technical detail.
Leadership and Talent Management
Provide coaching and on-boarding to new employees
May provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have:
Bachelors or advanced degree in a Technical field such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Proven Operations experience with depth of knowledge in at least one Operations function
Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical device, pharmaceutical, avionics, automotive)
Experience with problem solving methodologies
Experience working in virtual teams.
Experience in new product development or released product engineering
Experience with Medical Device Products and therapies.
Medical device product development experience and a strong understanding of FDA, ICH and IEC standards
Experience across the entire product lifecycle
DRM, DFSS or Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
Experience with CAPA or Change Management,
PMP Certified
