As a Software Development Engineer in Test, the role encompasses formulating and building extensive test cases and methodologies to verify new functionalities and features for different development engineering products. This position combines qualities of both black and white box testing procedures with major focus on test methodologies that quickly evaluate code stability and operation. The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of Quality Assurance, operating system software and object-oriented design principles.In this role, as a member of a Software Development team, you will contribute to defining test strategies, appropriate test suites, effective test cases as well as work with tools for unit, functional, and performance testing in a programmatic manner.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of a Software Development team, work with the team to identify what needs to be tested, how best to test the code and system, and implement and complete the tests.
Perform routine, smart and focused, exploratory manual tests based on high-risk areas.
Assist in writing and performing manual and automated test plans and related test cases.
Verifying features and improvements using white and black box methodologies; with emphasis on debugging and identifying the root cause of issues.
Qualifications:
Must be capable of operating independently, self-prioritizing and self-directing their work
Good critical and abstract thinking skills
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Proven capability to comprehend large scale system architectures, with an understanding of how they work and fail.
Knowledge of and experience with Python.
Demonstrate strong design and test skills.
Good analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communications skills.
Familiar with functional API testing.
Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals, object-oriented design, software test engineering principles, tools, techniques, and execution with an emphasis on automation.
Possess the passion and ability for solving intractable problems.
Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment.
Experience working with embedded consumer electronic systems.
Experience and skilled in the use of debugging tools, including Bluetooth sniffers.
Basic understanding of Bluetooth.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related equivalent degree, and 6 + years of proven experience.
