Enterprise Technology is looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineering Manager to join the Cloud Account Management team. We are a distributed team focused on enabling our technology teams through self-service cloud account lifecycle management and building paved roads for our teams to be successful in many cloud providers. Our products are the services and platforms that enable technology teams to build Disney ready environments in Public Cloud and beyond. Our products are used by technology teams across the company and around the world.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will help cultivate an environment where people can do their best work through strategic thinking, coaching, and career advocacy. You will own the delivery and quality of your teams commitments to its customers and collaborate across the organization to ensure appropriate prioritization. You should have a passion for servant leadership, team building, and empathy-driven development.
The Software Engineering Manager will lead a team of developers charged with developing APIs and services to empower our customers in Disney public cloud environments. In this position, you will collaborate daily with product engineers, engineering managers, reliability engineers, third party support engineers and software vendors.
Responsibilities:
+ Build a diverse & prolific software development team through a combination of training, career development, recruiting, and process improvement
+ Lead by example to design technical solutions and ensure that all software conforms to the highest quality standards
+ Collaborate with product engineers and other business partners to prioritize work and set goals for the team
+ Refine engineering practices and enact positive change within the team
+ Champion your team's work across the organization
+ Regularly report on status and team health, while identifying your teams gaps and needs for your leadership
Basic Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of technical experience, including 2+ years in an engineering leadership role
+ Ability to write documentation and communicate technical topics with clarity
+ Ability to communicate across multiple teams
+ Experience delivering platform services in a cloud environment using open-source technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Expertise with cloud-native services leveraging serverless technologies
+ Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, web stacks, libraries, and frameworks
Education:
+ Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience
