We are seeking a System Software developer who is passionate about platform development specializing in OS and Embedded systems for Dells rapidly expanding Edge Business.
**What youll achieve**
The Dell Technologies Edge Portfolio team is developing a North Star architecture and SW Platform that enables Dell to win at the edge by providing a system that will manage Edge estates, orchestrate outcomes, and provide a vehicle for Dell to expand its offerings into multiple Edge vertical markets. You will have an exciting opportunity to make a huge impact on the Dells strategic Edge business while building a highly scalable software platform with cutting edge technologies.
As Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing software features and capabilities that span the entire product architecture from the Edge Compute Endpoint through controller and orchestration platform.
**You will:**
+ Work on building Edge Operating environment which will include customized Linux distribution and cloud native capabilities.
+ Work in implementation of imaging and provisioning workflows for Onboarded devices, which includes installation, updates, and patching of OS in Endpoint devices.
+ Work on FW level development to build UEFI applications for compute devices.
+ Develop and implement workflows to enable Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) of Edge Endpoint devices.

**Essential Requirements**
+ Requires 10+ years of System Software development experience with a Bachelors/Master's degree.
+ Knowledge of computer hardware, firmware, and software architecture and understanding of Linux System internals.
+ Experience in UEFI Spec implementation, tuning POST performance, EDK II UEFI, BIOS, Pre-boot system programming, Socket programming, or other low-level code
+ Extensive knowledge in Linux system boot processing starting with the firmware, initrd, grub to the kernel.
+ Experience in developing Zero-touch provision workflow for secure onboarding of different devices (ranging from enterprise servers to devices used in Edge).
+ Prolific System programmer (using Golang, Rust, or C/C++), with strong CS foundations in Data Structure and Algorithms.
**Desirable Requirements**
+ Experience with Linux applications on IoT edge devices is a plus.
+ Experience with container ecosystems like Docker, Kubernetes Container Platform and familiarity with virtualization, networking, or storage
