**Job Description Summary**
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will play a crucial role in contributing to the development, testing, and verification of engine software design. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will provide direction and assistance to the team in order to meet assigned objectives while contributing to the overall business and software strategy for commercial engine applications.

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer role supports commercial programs.
Responsibilities include:
+ Execute on the business goals, programs, and processes associated with aircraft engine embedded software development
+ Design, implement, and test real-time embedded software, ensuring requirements and quality specifications are met
+ Generate software requirements, model / code design integrated with other systems, conduct robust testing and verification.
+ Collaborate with Global team, Control / Fuel / Electrical Systems, Engine Systems and Hardware designers / vendors for design, implementation of embedded software for commercial engine applications
+ Interact directly with customers and airframers to analyze, clarify, and correct requirements and designs
+ Participate actively in design and code reviews
+ Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project and mentoring to less experienced engineers
+ Document technical data generated for assigned projects / tasks, consistent with engineering policies and procedures
+ Provide timely communication to leadership and team members on significant issues or developments
+ Provide input to planning and tracking to support metrics-based continuous improvement
+ Drive performance, quality and reliability improvements
+ Lead and participate in Lean activities/projects to improve software development process
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in an engineering field
+ minimum 10 years of relevant experience in applications and embedded software.

+ Experience developing real time software for embedded systems
+ Working knowledge of C and knowledge with other computing languages such as: assembly, Perl, or Python
+ Experience in test systems and methods for embedded software design
+ Experience with requirements documentation and analysis
+ Familiarity with the following tools: DOORs, SCADE, RTC or Synergy / Change, SIMICS,
+ Simulation using NPSS
+ Experience with military or commercial software qualification process (MIL-HDBK 516C, DO-178C and related commercial software certification standards for embedded software)
+ Experience in using digital communication protocols such as: Mil-Std-1553B, ARINC 429, IEEE-1394, ARINC 664, EADIN, and/or CAN bus
+ Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
+ Strong oral and written communication skills and organization skills
