**ROLE SUMMARY**
The Scrum Master - Digital is accountable for ensuring the Digital Medicine Product Manager, Technical Product Lead and Development Teams maximize the business value of products. This role is responsible for ensuring the team lives agile values and principles and follows the processes and practices that the team agreed they would use for continuous development and delivery of products and solutions.
Working with a talented team of functional/technical experts, they are key proponents of Agile practices and values, using these to help drive forward the program of digital transformation that empowers Pfizer's customer-oriented vision.
You should be well versed and comfortable driving the full software development lifecycle, from requirements identification and prototyping, through design and implementation, to customer acceptance and delivery. You are especially passionate about working driving Agile/SCRUM processes to meet and exceed customer expectations. You welcome the challenge of working in a fast-paced, data-driven, commercially-oriented environment and will be genuinely excited about exercising your problem-solving skills on a continuous basis with an eye to ultimately improving team performance. The projects that the Scrum Master manages are often complex and global in nature. To ensure their success they will be expected to: Plan scrum implementations effectively, ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Organize and facilitate agile activities and ceremonies including daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and product backlog refinement sessions.
+ Collaborate closely with the Technical Product Lead to manage the backlog.
+ Understand the project's functional/technical requirements and provide leadership to the functional/technical teams, helping them to solve some of the more complex challenges and engendering a collaborative, knowledge sharing environment.
+ Effectively manage user story estimation and forecasting.
+ Champion and facilitate adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices; help the team embrace agile core values, adopt and apply those principles, and implementation practices
+ Coach team on established IT and corporate standards (e.g., security, quality, and architecture) to minimize operational and reputational risk; ensuring appropriate regulatory & compliance processes, data quality, verification & validation execution, and systems delivery are followed
+ Coach the team to improve collaboration and self-management, promoting healthy interactions both within the team and with external stakeholders.
+ Proactively identify and resolve impediments; manage the escalation process for critical issues, and manage them to resolution
+ Ensure that all meetings are positive, productive, stay on topic, and are kept within the timebox
+ Communicate with leaders across the organization to ensure transparency into delivery progress, challenges, and risks.
+ Capture defined organizational metrics to identify areas of opportunity and work with team to continuously improve.
+ Represent the team at broader planning and coordination sessions (e.g., Scrum of Scrums).
+ Owns team JIRA board and reporting responsibilities
+ Support the team in using agile planning and development tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Rally).
+ Ensure SDLC processes are followed
+ Coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party vendors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Management or relevant disciplines
+ 7+ years of experience including 5 years of experience as a scrum master or a similar position, working with functional/technical teams of contract or colleague resources
+ Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, concepts and theories of agile disciplines (i.e. scrum, Kanban), and good understanding/knowledge of principles and concepts of other disciplines.
+ Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems
+ Ability to operate independently in ambiguous situations
+ Ability to make decisions guided by policies in non-standard situations
+ Excellent skills in planning, analysis, oral and written communication, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, and the ability to readily learn a new business area.
+ Able to work effectively with dispersed, remote and global teams when needed.
+ Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Relevant experience as an information technology professional in roles such as a software developer, technical project manager, systems administrator, database administrator, systems engineer, computer engineer or support specialist, engineering lead, technical team lead
+ Have demonstrated ability and experience in technology solutions delivery in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment with demonstrated capabilities managing large scale, enterprise software requirements definition, designs and implementations in global 24-by-7 environments.
+ Experience within the Medical Device industry and medical product development.
+ Experience working in an FDA regulated/QMS environment.
+ Qualified as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

+ Travel may be required as part of this role. Expectations around travel will vary but candidates must be capable of travel within the region, to other regions, and to Pfizer World Headquarters.
