Senior technical architect role is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems architecture, design, analysis and programming activities.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Ability to design and develop distributed banking solutions on J2EE technologies covering various aspects of software development, processes and methodology

+ Responsible for designing and influencing adoption of highly scalable, high available, performant, transactional distributed systems

+ Drive deep architectural discussions with different stakeholders during solution architecture design or solution implementation activities

+ Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements

+ Responsible for envisioning, architecting and designing reusable components

+ Able to define optimal approaches for complex enterprise problems through in-depth evaluation of business/system processes and industry standards

+ Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation

+ Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

+ Guide the development process through high level decision making


**Qualifications:**


+ Overall 14+ years of experience required in Technology Development.

+ 10+ years of experience in design and architecture of enterprise applications including expertise in various integration patterns and exposure to microservices and cloud native architecture

+ 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing large-scale intranet/internet applications with Java 8, J2EE SOA, Spring Boot, and Unix

+ Experience in designing and Implementation of Enterprise Application Architectures using Microservice architecture and Principals, API Management, DevOps setup, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, GCP, Paas/Iaas, etc

+ Must have experience in

+ domain driven design (DDD)

+ microservice 12 factor app principles,

+ CI/CD and Devops methodologies

+ Authentication, Authorization and Security design implementation for microservices

+ Messaging and caching technologies (Kafka, Redis, Gemfire, MQ)

+ Design and implementation in data architecture of RDBMS and NoSQL Databases (Oracle, MongoDB)

+ Cloud native solutions with OpenShift, AWS, GCP, Azure

+ Strong understanding of ETL tools and frameworks like Spring batch for batch processing

+ In-depth understanding of non-functional requirements (availability, scalability, recoverability, performance, resiliency)

+ Knowledge of Web UI technologies including HTML5, EXT-JS/Angular-JS is good to have

+ Expertise in design, development, performance tuning, troubleshooting and deployment

+ Familiar with standard SDLC and Agile processes

+ Ability to have clear and concise written and verbal communication, work with minimal supervision, go above and beyond assigned tasks, and take decisions and escalate issues when necessary

**Education:**


+ Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience

+ Masters degree preferred
