Position Summary:

We are looking for a technically competent network/system administrator who will manage our enterprise grade datacenter with minimum supervision. Part of the duties include design and implement robust systems, maintain and upgrade existing server equipment, write technical documents. Microsoft Server technologies, VMWare and Fibre Chanel Storage Area Network (SAN) experience are expected. Linux server experience is plus. Prior working knowledge of HIPAA, FISMA, risk assessment are also desired. The position will occasionally provide HelpDesk support.  The main responsibilities include but not limited to:  Perform as a Team Lead  Be an integral part of the Infrastructure team  Manage hybrid environment containing Windows Server, Linux (CentOS), and Mac systems  Support Primary Site Compellent/VMware vsphere/SRM  Support Disaster Recovery site with Compellent/VMware vsphere/SRM  Primary Backup : Veeam and Quantum Tape Library  Microsoft SCCM  Support our research management platform  Support and maintain the server infrastructure mentioned above  Server administration  Monitor logs  Proactively implement preventive tools  Maintain regulatory compliance (HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, GDPR)  Enhance operation by automation  Improve security posture  Follow applicable policies (UAB, UAB IT, HSIS).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deploys the release of new technologies.

• Designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.

• Responsible for trouble shooting server problems as reported by users

• Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products.

• Support Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment.

• Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth

• Installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $57,940 - $80,000

Master's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
