What You Will Do:
Help drive our expansion into Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Build, support & maintain our AWS Landing Zone and Cloud Capability
Serve as the SME on all things cloud architecture and infrastructure
Enable our services to be self-served to ensure teams are autonomous as possible through automation
Work closely with IT Security to ensure to monitor, enhance, and ensure the organization's cloud security requirements are met
Drive very high standards and best practices, automate all the things!
Be at the forefront of the latest tech in native cloud technology to ensure we're continuously improving our cloud capability
Working within an agile engineering squad to further advance our capabilities and improve our cycle time for feature delivery
Ensure that security, operational and supportability guidelines are factored into the construction of any solution
Be active in our communities of practice across engineering and development to continually enhance our collective knowledge
Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback
Understand how to manage an AWS organization and provide least privileged access to users and accounts.
A full understanding of hybrid cloud networking. From VPC connectivity over Direct Connect to on-premise clouds
Writing serverless code to distribute logs, images, and manage other central services.
What You Will Need:
Fluent in Cloud / AWS Platforms
Excellent knowledge & Hands on experience of Terraform/Packer and Infrastructure as code (IaC) technology including automated testing
Hand on experience writing reusable modules ready for consumption by anyone in the business
Experience with containerization technologies
Excellent experience of AWS Lambda (ideally written in Python & Boto3) including monitoring
Extensive experience with CI/CD infrastructure pipelines
Excellent knowledge of networking fundamentals, firewalls and load balancers
Good Experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, Node, Ruby
The ability to debug code locally and remotely
Knowledge of configuration management, provisioning, and orchestration tools (Puppet & Ansible)
An excellent understanding of observability including monitoring and alerting (AWS Cloud Watch, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus
Experience of working in an Agile development environment
Experience with Kubernetes (EKS would be a bonus)
Understanding of Kubernetes ecosystem including helm, helmsmen, helmfile etc)
Experience with programmatically consuming APIs
Knowledge of opensource methodology
