The Operational Risk Sr Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Join a team of individuals in managing and reporting Operational and Compliance Risk across the centralized Risk and Control Institutional Clients Group.

+ Assess and identify program improvements and efficiencies for continuously striving for a strong and sustainable risk and control environment.

+ Coordinate across multiple stakeholders and lines and defense for reporting, collaborating and challenging risk appetite, material and operational risks, ad-hoc risk dives and remediation initiatives.

+ Present aggregated risk data and metrics for management oversight and escalation, challenging and articulating remediation, mitigation and supporting business risk owners.

+ Drive compliance with Compliance, ORM, Policy requirements/ standards.

+ Drive initiatives for information sharing, communications and lessons learned across businesses, functions and principal risk owners.

+ Coordinate various Operational Risk initiatives such as Risk Appetite Statement reviews, Quarterly Risk Appetite Assessments, Material Risk and Key Risk identification processes as well as ad-hoc risk identification initiatives.

+ Challenge business and principal risk owners in Risk Appetite assessment and Path to Green initiatives.

+ Assess risk assessment measure tools and data and drive remediation initiatives as needed.

+ Use project skills to collaborate across various stakeholders and subject matter experts for optimal solutions.

+ Establish and oversee the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.

+ Assess risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.

+ Establish and maintain a robust control environment and culture within the Citi businesses worldwide.

+ Assist management in achieving and maintaining strategic objectives, promotes efficiency, reduces the risk of loss and helps ensure compliance with corporate polices, procedures, laws and regulatory requirements.

+ Identify best practices to be shared with global Citi businesses.

+ Develop and maintain tracking metrics for management reporting and escalation.

+ Establish a rapport with Business Managers, Compliance, Internal Audit and Legal.

+ Develop a broad and detailed understanding of the organizations landscape, culture and technology.

+ Understand the various businesses and the applicable regulations which govern.

+ Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

+ Act as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


**Qualifications:**


+ Minimum 10 years of Investment Banking and ICG products experience

+ Experienced Risk and Control practitioner with First, Second or Third Line experience

+ Public Accounting or Internal Audit experience a plus

+ Six Sigma, Lean Processing a plus

+ Risk Metric reporting skills a plus

+ Confident, assertive, knowledgeable, and articulate in managing meetings, presentation and conversing on operational risk issues; must be able to lead proactive discussion, and agree solutions.

+ Excellent oral and written communications skills; Must be articulate and persuasive.

+ Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively.

+ Ability to work in a team environment, listen and work well with others.

+ Client-focused and open to different ideas/viewpoints.

+ Capable of self-starting and prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

+ Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem solving capability.

+ Ability to analyze a process and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency.


**Education:**


+ Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree preferred

+ CFA, CPA a plus.
