Job Description:

We are seeking highly motivated engineers with a thirst for learning, in support of a geographically dispersed, network integrating a variety of Microsoft services. Candidates with proven depth creating solutions with Microsoft Windows Server will be positioned for success in our organization. The selected candidate will design, build and deploy, and administer large scale multi-domain enterprise Windows Server environments. Additionally, engineers will build, maintain and migrate a variety of physical and virtual systems to on-premises, cloud, or hybrid infrastructures. Customer solutions currently exist within on-premises hosting environments based on VMware and within Amazon Web Services. The team is actively working to design and execute a migration to Microsoft Azure/M365, so candidates with this experience will be valued. Engineers will provide support to multiple globally dispersed WAN connected sites. Embracing the DevOps model, engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the entire IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements,creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support. Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based hosting technologies

  • Analyze requirements and system architectures to develop system requirements specifications and resulting design plans

  • Administer, operate, manage and maintain components for on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems

  • Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients

  • Plans and directs upgrades of Windows Server infrastructure and related components

  • Design and administer Configuration Management tools and suites and Patch Management solutions for desired state configuration and baseline management and control

Required Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of experience

  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools and suites to include System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

  • Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019 is preferred

  • Experience with, and strong understanding of, Windows Active Directory

  • Experience with, and strong understanding of, Group Policy Configuration and Management

  • Experience with, and strong understanding of, Windows DNS and DHCP

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure will be valued

  • Experience with Microsoft deployment methodology options to include Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)

  • Experience with, and strong understanding of, Windows File and Storage Services, to include Distributed File System (DFS) Namespace and Replication management

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages

  • Experience building/managing servers in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment will be valued

  • Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow

  • System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs
