Systems Administrator, Microsoft Windows
Are you a Microsoft Server pro that is proficient in deploying and maintaining servers in both on-prem and AWS hosted virtual environments? Can you help us automate tasks and processes using PowerShell and config management tools?
We™re looking for a Systems Administrator, Microsoft Windows who has experience in the design, installation, configuration, and implementation of Windows Server Infrastructure. Experience deploying servers in AWS cloud environment is preferred. This includes Windows servers, Active Directory, ADFS and other core services on the Windows platform. This position is based in either Stamford, CT or Richmond, VA.
The typical pay scale for this role is between $135,00 and $175,000, although pay could be lower or higher based on factors such as experience, skills, etc. This compensation range is specific to CT and may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations. In addition, the role may be eligible for incentives earned as part of the Annual Incentive plan which is discretionary and based on the performance of the firm, the business unit and the individual.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Perform daily administration of MS Windows Server (2019, 2016, 2012) on-premise and in AWS.
Perform enterprise level system upgrades of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and other applications, including evaluation and installation of patches.
Design and manage Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, ADFS and other Windows core services.
Build server images to conform to standards, including hardening and security compliance like CIS.
Manage Service Level Agreements, documentation, and policy/procedure related to virtualized, and Windows environments.
Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation and respond to business emergencies.
Resolve escalated issues from the IT Service Desk and other IT departments.
Proactively monitor servers to anticipate and mitigate problems.
Abide by all Change Management, Service Management and Incident Management processes and procedures. Attend Change Approval Board (CAB) meetings, and Incident Management conference calls as needed.
Create and manage scripts to perform system tasks with PowerShell.
Utilize orchestration and automation tools to speed deployment and provide consistent builds and patch management.
Required Experience and Skills:
Windows Server Administration. 5+ years of relevant experience in MS Windows server administration.
Enterprise-level Server Administration. Demonstrated experience in managing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level server administration including clustering.
VMware. Experience deploying and maintaining servers in a hosted virtual environment, especially VMware.
AWS. Experience deploying and maintaining servers in a public-cloud hosted virtual environment, preferably in Amazon AWS cloud. AWS certification a plus.
Active Directory. Solid knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, ADFS, and the ability to maintain other Windows core services.
PowerShell. Practical scripting knowledge to automate tasks and processes using PowerShell.
Networking. General knowledge in Networking, i.e. TCP/IP, firewall, network routing
IT Runbooks. Ability to create and manage IT runbooks, and system and project documentation
Configuration Management. Experience working with config management tools, like Ansible, is a plus
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
