The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

The Citi Private Bank (CPB) Tech is looking for Strategic Data Platform Demographics Senior Scala Developer/Warsaw Team lead - who will be part of the global Strategic Data Platform team.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage/develop multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as ensure team adheres to best practices and process Develop vision for team around roles and responsibilities, and structure team to ensure greatest impact, efficient use of resource, and alignment to business structures
+ Apply in-depth knowledge of patterns, concepts and procedures from past experiences and steer teams & directs into right direction.
+ Act as Mentor/Subject Matter Expert (SME) for local and remote software development team in Scala/Java/Strategic Data Platform domains.
+ Act as an enabler and helps his directs solve complex business and technical problems to achieve organizational objectives.
+ Creates partnership - Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors.
+ Right individual will be an out-of-box thinker along with capabilities to innovate / propose new tools / technologies & solutions as needed to create an edge for the Wealth Management Business
+ Go-getter and pro-active and should be able to translate strategy into an execution plan for the team to work on.
+ Orchestrate and drive the successful & timely completion of quality initiatives to achieve highest standards
+ Manage capacity and projects alignment for Strategic Data Platform team in country.
+ Communicate to all stakeholders (including Senior Management) on a timely basis in a clear way
+ Facilitate, coordinate, and arbitrate cross-functional macro level topics with key stakeholders (often including Senior Management)
+ Maintain weekly and monthly status reporting into the required forums

+ This position is based in Shanghai reporting to the GWM Tech - Global Head Data Reporting & Analytics
+ This role requires working in matrix organization setup and work with various senior Tech & Business stakeholders globally
+ The position requires strong governance, execution, interpersonal, communication & collaboration skills in order to engage, negotiate & prioritize the actions during the complex & multi-faced situations to pursue the best outcome & value delivery for the Citi Private Bank
+ Build a deep understanding of Wealth business, products, processes, data, and provide a business perspective to project team
+ Manage timelines, milestones and streams related to own projects
+ Track, resolve and escalate issues for own projects while keeping relevant stakeholders informed
+ Able to communicate strategy and vision effectively through presentations/pitches and create buy-in from all level of organization.
**Skills Required**
+ Expert on distributed system design
+ In-depth knowledge of :
+ Scala 2.x (preferred) or Java
+ Akka HTTP, Cluster
+ Messaging / Stream - Confluent Kafka, JMS
+ Graph Databases (Neo4J)
+ Hands on experience with Hadoop (HDFS/HBase/Hive) ecosystem along with Spark 2.0 is highly desirable.
+ Experience with containers including Dockers, Kubernetes or any other cloud native technologies is a huge plus.
+ Current experience with Microservices, along with experience with API management solutions like APIM or Apigee
+ CI/CD tools, concepts, and practical application.
+ Practical knowledge of database design and integration in software solution
+ Ability to design and develop software solution architecture addressing technical as well as business requirements
+ Demonstrated ability to independently lead & execute software development technology teams on local and global level
+ Experience in successfully managing complex development projects and programs which include external suppliers
+ Excellent influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills
+ Exemplary written and oral communication skills which can be leveraged to consistently succeed
+ Excellent judgment, strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills
+ Ability to thrive in a cross-functional and geographically dispersed organization

+ Experience and ease in interfacing with Senior Management

+ Evidence quality leadership in motivating and inspiring people within area of responsibility
**Qualification:**
+ Masters degree in Computer Science is desirable though not limiting for the right candidate.
+ 15+ years of total experience in large IT organizations strongly preferred in financial services and software development industry
+ 10+ years of experience as SME/Expert/Lead/Senior Developer in software development teams.
