Summary

InterDigitalis seeking a Workday Global Technical Specialist to join a global operations team. Reporting to the Sr. HR Operations Manager, this hands-on role will be responsible for leading the execution of various Workday HRIS integrations, configurations, reports, and other facets of HR strategies. This is an exciting space to impact several transformational projects in coordination with our global teams. This role will manage project workstreams, develop timelines, and communicate project goals and milestones.

Responsibilities

The Specialist will work collaboratively to enable the Workday technology, systems, and data that support the user experience, integration, processes, and strategies.

As a key HR Operations team member, this role provides proactive and regular consultative, functional, configuration, and technical expertise for Workday integrations, security/systems, reports/analytics, and partners with internal/external stakeholders.

Workday Technical

  • Day-to-day run/maintenance of 25 data integration interfaces with third party vendors.

  • Review Workday daily integration logs and troubleshoot issues with errors for resolution. Analyze code to find causes of errors and review integrations as needed.

  • Define, design, build and refine new Workday integrations using Studio, Core Connector, Web Services, XML, XSLT, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Drive tenant testing, movement to production, and post-production support events.

  • Support HR Operations technical priorities and coordinate cross functional dependencies between various groups to troubleshoot and resolve technical Workday issues.

  • Lead Workday integration requirements/scope gathering, translate requirements into functional specifications, documentation reviews, and partner with IS and other leaders including third party vendors.

  • Develop, maintain, and update Workday technical procedures, guidelines, and documentation ensuring compliance with establishment of controls and guidelines.

  • Serves as technical expert in Workday development projects and support of Workday system enhancements, new business process and application builds, EIBs, security maintenance, and bi-annual upgrades.

  • Support resolution of Workday issues escalated by employees, managers, and HR while providing creative solutions.

  • Manage Service Now incidents, tracking ticket status, and partnering with teams to resolution.

Workday Report/Data Analytics

  • Creates Workday advanced reporting configuration using calculated fields and supports the overall Workday report library. Maximize reporting efficiencies by streamlining reports within the system with recommendations.

  • Leverages Microsoft Excel and Workday Report Writer to generate advanced reports with formulaic analysis for business review and consumption.

  • Conducts research and analysis regarding trends, patterns, and share insights to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Perform data loads and data audits.

Engagement, Partnership, and Improvements

  • Supports Sr. HR Operations Managers with outputs for Workday internal/external audit requests throughout the year. Document application/functional processes as required per audit requests.

  • Identify and drive implementation of process improvement opportunities including Workday automation where feasible. Help coordinate analysis, configuration, and testing in partnership with technology team representatives when needed.

  • Partners with HR team members globally to support HR initiatives, harmonize global processes through RACI development.

  • Work closely with functional area subject matter experts and other stakeholders such as IS, Finance, Payroll, HR, etc., as needed to test and implement efficient system/process solutions.

  • Provide training and assistance to HR Operations team to support cross-training and back-up support. Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis including projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, HR, Business, or related field required.

  • 5+ years HR technology experience in a global, fast-faced environment, ideally as a Workday Technical Lead Analyst, Workday Developer, or HR Operations Analyst.

  • 5+ years Workday technical experience in the design/development of integrations and report writer/advanced reports.

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of technical experience in Workday in one or more of the following Workday HCM Production Suite/Applications: Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Learning, Payroll, Recruiting, Report Writer, Security, Talent & Performance, Time & Attendance, Payroll

  • Workday Studio experience with strong XSLT skills.

  • Report development experience with a background in developing and supporting complex calculated fields.

  • Hands on development and deployment of Workday integrations and reports/analytics required. Workday integration experience with setup using Studio, Connector, EIBs, Web Services, and APIs required.

  • Strong written/verbal communication and multi-tasking skills.

  • Excellent research, analytical, Microsoft Excel, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to take initiative and successfully handle and prioritize multiple assignments and effectively manage deadlines.

  • Ability to problem solve and provide recommended solutions.

  • Workday Core certifications in integrations and HCM required. Other Workday certifications a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of Java a plus.

  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certificate a plus.

  • Ability to collaborate on a global team.
