We are seeking a professional like you to join our BASF Refining Catalysts (FCC Catalysts) team. The Refining Catalysts Team supplies fluid cracking catalysts, additives, and technical support of products to the oil refining business throughout the world. The catalysts are used to convert the heavy fraction of crude oil to useable and more valuable products to be used as fuels (gasoline and heating oil) and chemical feedstocks (propylene and butylene).
In this role, you will manage all aspects of customer accounts and relationships for the assigned territory and customer portfolio to meet sales, technical service, market share, and profitability targets. You will have accountability for all commercial and technical service activities related to the assigned FCC Catalysts customer portfolio, in addition to supporting R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain activities to meet customer needs. It is expected that you will consistently demonstrate commercial excellence during the life cycle of a customer relationship.

Formula for Success
Your Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or another relevant discipline combined with your robust analytical ability will be vital as you will be responsible for sales forecasting, pricing, CRM tool management, and other projects as assigned to support account management activities. Specifically, you will evaluate requests for technical and commercial proposals, including performing a detail technical analysis, technical modeling and simulations, performing pricing evaluations and developing commercials terms when required.
Your strong business acumen will be a valued asset as you will have overall financial responsibility for the assigned sales territory and account portfolio, which includes financial metrics targeting volume, margin, costs, and receivables.
Driving decisions for the business, you will leverage the overall FCC Catalysts Division (CCR) global strategy to develop territory and customer strategies. Strategies shall be supported by well-defined implementation plans to execute against key strategic objectives to accelerate growth, properly position our product offering with the customer base, and maximize market penetration.
Utilizing your ability to think outside the box, you will identify new business opportunities and enhance existing customer relationships through relationship mapping and account penetration.
Demonstrating leadership and the ability to work cross-functionally within BASF, you will promote BASF FCC products, technology, innovation and goodwill within the region.
Successfully engaging outside the organization, you will liaise with customer technical and operational teams to advise and assist with technical troubleshooting, offering consultation and implementing modeling scenarios to solve operational issues, specific refinery processes or the FCC unit. Additionally, you will establish and maintain relationships with key customer personnel, as well as key external stakeholders to enhance commercial effectiveness and drive financial results. You will manage all relationships between the regional refineries and BASF.
