The Senior Software Engineer - Ad Tech will oversee day-to-day performance of ad technology integrations, ensuring uptime and revenue generation for both owned-and-operated apps and websites as well as third-party content distributions with sell-through rights. This role specifically works to create high-demand inventory across all digital touchpoints for the programmatic sales team to fill.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Oversee integration of our ad server (GAM) into CTV, mobile, and web products
Work with app development and product teams to properly implement advertising SDKs and frameworks
Create ad tags for partners and configure targeting parameters to maximize the value of ad avails
Work closely with the ad operations/revenue team to understand inventory, targeting, and measurement needs for programmatic and direct sold campaigns, then develop and execute strategies to meet those needs
Troubleshoot and fix ad issues on Scripps Networks websites and apps
Define and review ad testing methodologies and ad specs
Develop and maintain a toolkit to support quality checks
Create test pages for new ad types (mobile web, apps, desktop)
Improve overall ad QA process using new tools and automated processes
Maintain logs of errors and resolutions (by source) allowing the creative team to identify the source of common errors and eliminate them
Research the latest ad technology trends and perform evaluations of new ad technologies
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience
5 years experience in ad technology with experience writing native app code and troubleshooting ad integrations
3 years experience with CTV ad technology preferred.
3 years experience working with a variety of ad serving systems and SSPs, including but not limited to Google Ad Manager, Magnite/Telaria, SpotX, Publica, etc.
WHAT YOULL BRING:
Strong working knowledge of trends in programmatic advertising and connected TV
Familiarity with Google Ad Manager, Publica, and Magnite
Hands-on on experience with software development including but limited to JSON, XML, Python, Node, Go, GIT
Working knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, Roku Ad Framework, Verizon Uplynk/VDMS or similar
