The University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin with the academic year 2023-24.
Applicants for the position must hold a J.D. degree (or the equivalent) and should demonstrate the potential for success as scholars, teachers, and future members of the UH and the Law Center's broader community.
The teaching focus for this position is to cover 1L doctrinal courses, with constitutional law having the greatest emphasis. Candidates with an interest in teaching other 1L doctrinal topics may be considered, particularly in the areas of criminal law, torts, contracts or civil procedure. Upper level course teaching options are flexible. Willingness to teach elsewhere in the Law Center curriculum, including other 1L courses or courses covered on the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), is also a positive factor.
Further information about the Law Center and its programs is available at: http://www.law.uh.edu and http://www.law.uh.edu/ipil/.
This search is coordinated by Prof. Emily Berman, the chair of UHLC's faculty appointments committee. In addition to the formal online application made in response to this posting, applicants should send Prof. Berman a short email expressing their interest, attaching a curriculum vitae, recent scholarship, and other relevant materials at eberman@central.uh.edu.
