Role Overview
The Associate Director, Events will be an integral part of the Global Events team developing high-quality customer engagement programs that advance the Fitch Ratings brand through the flawless delivery and execution of virtual events, plus future in person and hybrid events at industry trade shows and conferences as well as Fitch-hosted events in North America.

The role of Associate Director, Events for Fitch Group, reporting into the Fitch Group Global Head of Events, is to manage a portfolio of Fitch owned and third-party events, as well as virtual events, webinars, etc. Collaborating with internal and external partners, this role works closely with the Head of Marketing for Fitch Ratings businesses as well as the wider Group Marketing functions to ensure that all of our events are well promoted, attended and executed, and that our presence at events is well managed, professional, measured and aligned with business strategy.

The key responsibilities for this role include:


  • Understanding Fitch Ratings business strategies & educate on event best practice.

  • Meet regularly with marketing team and business relationship managers for the Fitch Ratings businesses to understand short- and long-term objectives across new business and brand.

  • Work with marketing and business partners to identify new opportunities in the market.

  • Collaborate with Fitch Ratings cMarketing and Communications to develop exceptional programs that generate awareness, interest, consideration, and sales opportunities for each event.

  • Develop overall event planning and strategy and interlock with businesses based on what generates the best results for the business.

  • Assist analytical teams in developing the most compelling content for programs that engage attendees.

  • Keep business management teams informed & educated on Event "state of the art" and best practice, including pre- and post-communications, measurement, etc.

  • Maintain Event calendar and recommend which to/not to attend.

  • Ensure high-quality hybrid and virtual event experiences for speakers and attendees by scheduling planning meetings, doing tech preparation with speakers, and managing the run-of-show in close coordination with stakeholders.

  • Maintain the inventory of all promotional giveaways and exhibit materials.

  • For in person events, management of event components including budget preparation, site selection, hotel contract negotiation, website/invite creation, social media, audio-visual production, branded collaterals, exhibit shipping, catering and speakers.

  • Responsible for identifying current issues with webcast and teleconferences and find exploring solutions to streamline the entire process and staying abreast of the latest technologies available.

  • Billing reconciliation on a bi-monthly basis of all corporate credit card charges and general invoice handling of the Events department.

  • Run satisfaction and feedback survey for business stakeholders

  • Keep up to date with industry measurement trends and ideas.

  • Produce post-event reporting and detailed analysis. Work closely with Global Head of Events in utilizing metrics to track results including capturing attendee data, contribution to pipeline, and accelerating sales cycle

We are seeking an individual able to demonstrate the following:

  • Must be fluent in English.

  • Strong relevant Event Management experience including multiple event types, webinars, virtual events, round tables etc.

  • Must be forward looking, detail oriented, and proactive with proven project management skills.

  • Proven results in delivery of global events - both industry and owned

  • Solid understanding of marketing technology and social platforms. Knowledge of Marketo, registration platforms, virtual plafroms and ON24 definite plus.

  • Strong competency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint with demonstrated analytical skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and guide key stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in budget management.

  • Proven verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be a team player, adaptable to fast-paced, changing environment; with ability to work closely with multiple departments.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
