The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure and platforms for successful adoption and scaling of cloud computing services in support of complex technical projects or business issues requiring advanced technical skills and expert knowledge. The Azure Cloud Architect has a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies (including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS), business drivers, and emerging computing trends. This role analyzes requirements and defines solutions architecture to meet business needs, with an emphasis on the following: reliability, security, cost optimization, operational excellence, and performance efficiency. The Azure Cloud Architect provides technical leadership, guidance, and hands-on assistance to others.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training with 10+ years of enterprise level IT experience.
Microsoft Azure Architect certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 60 days of hire.
Microsoft Azure Security certification is nice to have.
Endpoint Management - SCCM & Intune (MDM, MAM for Mobile)
Deep technical experience in infrastructure design including private and public cloud.
Understanding of advanced networking technologies, such as Azure Virtual WAN, Front Door, and ExpressRoute Global Reach.
Understanding of how to build resilient multi-site architectures
Familiarity with Identity Governance and Entitlement Management, such as resource catalogs, access packages and reviews.
Familiarity with Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus & Event Grid).
Experience with configuration management and automation technologies such as PowerShell, Azure Automation, ARM Templates, JSON/YAML; Chef, Puppet, Ansible; and image management with Azure Compute Gallery, Azure VM Image Builder (Packer).
Working knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, Azure Storage, Networking and Security Solutions (Azure VPN, Firewall, Application Gateway), Azure App Services, Windows and/or Linux administration, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Containers (Docker).
Ability to design, configure, deploy, and maintain identity and access management solutions, including but not limited to: Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Azure Active Directory, Azure Active Directory Connect; and Azure Active Directory Premium Features such as Multi-Factor Authentication, Advanced Security Reports and Alerts, and Conditional Access.
Ability to assess on-premises and cloud-based environments for health, adherence to best practices and potential security risks.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling such as Bicep or Terraform.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and associated practices.
Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud management using Azure Arc is a plus.
Experience working for a technology consulting firm or software product company is a plus.
