BMS-HVAC Controls Technician (union).

 

Honeywell in New York City is looking for our next BMS-HVAC Controls Technician!  This role will provide support on systems whose product lines include Honeywell & Tridium. Honeywell has a need for a highly motivated experienced technician for this role. We are looking for a talented team player who can think outside of the box, in an environment where traits like creativeness, imagination, and contribution to our success are encouraged and welcome.

Under minimal supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface. Properly completes required project and service documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction.

·         Consults with the customer through data gathered and site assessments. Provides field proposals for retrofits, and upgrades. Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.

·         Manages assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction.

·         Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.

·         Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects.

·         Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems to ensure proper operation.


Work locations will be primarily in Suffolk, Nassau, Westchester, and occasionally with the NYC boroughs.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • \r\t

  • High School Diploma

  • \r\t

  • 2+ years of experience with HVAC controls or building automation systems including commissioning and start up.

  • \r\t

  • \t2+ years of BACnet, Modbus, and/or Lon Works knowledge

  • \r\t

  • 2+ years of experience in software writing as well as demonstrated understanding of computer programs and software applications as related to the HVAC Industry.

  • \r\t

  • \tValid driver's license

  • \r

  • \tExperience working with system sequence of operations, system graphics and configuring & mapping system points.

  • \tExperience working with front end & station configuration, computers networks and switches.

  • \tDemonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.

  • \r\t

  • \tEffective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

  • \tDemonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.

  • \r\t

  • \tPossesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
