Data Quality Business Analyst (Associate II)

Successful candidate will join a team focused on delivering business impact through transformation of Data Quality management for Client Account Services organization. As a Data Quality Project Lead you will be expected to be completely hands-on to how the organization captures data, where they store it, what it means for different departments, and how its quality is maintained throughout its lifecycle. You will also need to have an understanding of data, at a high-level, as well as down to specifics, such as the meaning of the data stored in fields across datasets. As a Data Quality project lead will be expected to leverage industry standard practices.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

  • Partner with various stakeholders (e.g: Product, technology, operations, risk and controls, vendor) to materially improve Account and Standard Settlement Instruction (SSI) data quality across different across the Corporate and Investment banking lines of Business for CAS department

  • Understand the complete data lifecycle from data creation and capture, to data processing, storage, and usage

  • Identify opportunities for DQ discovery, profiling, and ongoing control solutions. Support implementation of solutions

  • Review current business and systemic processes with a view to identify critical data elements and document DQ rules

  • Mine and analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences and present them to project working group

  • Actively engaged in identifying solutions to improve account and SSI reference data

  • Work closely with data analytics team(s) to design and Implement - Data Quality recon rules, baseline metrics to track progress of data quality improvement, create data visualisations dashboards

  • Monitoring data quality, fixing issues, and implementing data quality improvement plans.

  • Ensure data quality meets customer expectation

  • Manage the initiative among the various business units

  • Communicate opportunities to Data governance committee

  • Identify and track end to end data lineage using traditional methods / systemic tools.

Skills Required

Required for the role

  • Minimum of 7 yearsâ„¢ experience in the financial services industry and/or related field

  • Good understanding of Settlement/Trade lifecycle and Industry standards (ALERT,SMPG,ISITC,ISO,SWIFT)

  • Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture

  • Ability to mine and analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences and present them to management

  • Working knowledge of industry wide data quality toolsets to support identified data validation and remediation.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, detail-oriented, and strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience with project planning and data quality management

  • Experience working in Ops or Tech in Project Management/Business Analysis / Problem-solving capacity

  • Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills - candidate will be dealing with stakeholders of varying degrees of seniority (up-to Executive Director level) across Corporate/Firmwide, Finance, Risk, Compliance , Operations and Technology team

  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously, with strong time management skills; efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high standard

  • Bachelorâ„¢s / Masterâ„¢s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics.

  • Agile Project management experience

  • Intermediate/Advanced experience using Visio, Signavio, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Collibra, QlikSense, Informatica

  • Familiarity with the company's products and services Custody, Fund Accounting, Markets, Prime Brokerage, Clearing, Investment Middle Office Service solution (IMOS),

  • Experience producing PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences

  • Business process reengineering mind-set (ie Six Sigma)
