JOB DESCRIPTION
Component Engineer II
The Component Engineer must have hands-on experience and will be required to perform testing, troubleshooting, analysis of electrical and electronic components and record results following written procedures and at the direction and guidance of engineering. This position will be standard full time.
JOB DUTIES:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test electronic security systems including panels, keypads, and associated peripherals and sensors.
Follow instructions, procedures, and guidelines to test alternative parts using existing part specifications, schematics, assembly instructions, and engineering direction.
Identify potential failure and/or error mechanisms causing yield issues.
Identify, track, and manage PCN - product change notifications that affect components.
Identify, track, and manage LTB and obsolete components.
Support UL/ETL agency submissions.
Work with Agile PLM system to review specifications and Bills of Materials.
YOU MUST HAVE:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical engineering field.
Has obtained an Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
Working knowledge of engineering lab equipment including but not limited to: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, DMM, LCR meter, and signal generators.
Working knowledge of digital, analog and RF electronic circuits.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and assembly drawings.
Ability to follow test procedures and engineering guidelines.
Working knowledge of electronic component technology.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with autonomy as well as follow guidelines and instructions from senior engineer.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Team player that uses objectivity and openness to criticism, feedback, and guidance.
Proficiency with Microsoft office; including Word and Excel.
Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills in English.
