CONTRACT AND GRANT SPECIALIST
POSITION SUMMARY
The Stevens Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) serves the Universitys central business function of providing pre-award and non-financial post-award research administration services to the research community. The Contract and Grant Specialist for OSP reports to the Associate Director of Research and Administration. This position offers the option to work remotely full-time or hybrid.
In this role, the Contract and Grant Specialist provides the following services:
Award set-up and management.
Regulatory and sponsor compliance related to the conduct of sponsored projects.
Other duties may involve proposal development.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to work with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment.
Ability to interpret and apply Federal, non-Federal, and University policies.
Knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration including Conflicts of Interest, Human Subjects, Animal Welfare, Export Controls, Biosafety, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Environmental Safety.
Experience utilizing sponsor systems including Fastlane, Research.gov, ASSIST, Grants.gov, NSPIRES, and DOE Exchange.
Experience in managing grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts from federal agencies (such as DoD, NIH, NSF, DOE) as well as State agencies, Foundations, and Corporate sponsors.
Maintains up-to-date sponsored programs data in OSP database.
Assists faculty in achieving shared objectives and works with others to provide quality service to sponsors and stakeholders.
Initiates all post-award modifications and requests on behalf of the PI and University in compliance with university and sponsor requirements (e.g. Change in PI, No Cost Extensions, Budget Modifications, Change in Scope, addition of subawards not included in proposal.)
Provides input in the development of internal policies and procedures regarding grant and contract proposals and applications.
Engages in professional development activities to remain informed on federal regulatory changes and best practices in the field of research administration.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Required Experience:
Bachelors degree and 1+ years experience.
Preferred Experience:
Masters degree in business or related field.
CRA certification.
Member of NCURA, SRAI, or other professional research administration association.
Compensation
Grade 6
