The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code

+ Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems

+ Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.

+ Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging

+ Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts

+ Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions

+ Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents

+ Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

+ Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

+ Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


**Qualifications:**


+ 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry

+ Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

+ Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills

+ Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements


**Education:**


+ Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience

+ This role requires working in matrix organization setup and work with various senior Tech & Business stakeholders globally

+ The position requires strong governance, execution, interpersonal, communication & collaboration skills in order to engage, negotiate & prioritize the actions during the complex & multi-faced situations to pursue the best outcome & value delivery for the Citi Global Wealth

+ Build a deep understanding of Wealth business, products, processes, data, and provide a business perspective to project team

+ Manage timelines, milestones and streams related to own projects

+ Track, resolve and escalate issues for own projects while keeping relevant stakeholders informed

+ Able to communicate and coordinate with both external and internal stakeholders.


**Skills Required**


+ Good understanding of distributed system design

+ In-depth knowledge of :

+ Java or Scala 2.x (preferred)

+ Akka HTTP, Cluster

+ Messaging / Stream - Confluent Kafka, JMS

+ Graph Databases (Neo4J)

+ Hands on experience with Hadoop (HDFS/HBase/Hive) ecosystem along with Spark 2.0 is highly desirable.

+ Experience with containers including Dockers, Kubernetes or any other cloud native technologies is a huge plus.

+ Current experience with Microservices, along with experience with API management solutions like APIM or Apigee

+ CI/CD tools, concepts, and practical application.

+ Practical knowledge of database design and integration in software solution

+ Ability to design and develop software solution architecture addressing technical as well as business requirements

+ Demonstrated ability to independently lead & execute software development technology teams on local and global level

+ Experience in successfully managing complex development projects and programs which include external suppliers

+ Excellent influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills

+ Exemplary written and oral communication skills which can be leveraged to consistently succeed

+ Excellent judgment, strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills

+ Ability to thrive in a cross-functional and geographically dispersed organization

+ Excellent presentation skills Able to simplify & articulate complex functional & technical problems

+ Experience and ease in interfacing with Senior Management

+ Individual should be analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal, communication, and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

+ Strong analytics and problem-solving skills in complex multi-faced conflicting situations


**Qualification:**


+ Masters degree in Computer Science is desirable though not limiting for the right candidate.

+ 5+ years of total experience in large IT organizations strongly preferred in financial services and software development industry

+ 2+ years of experience as SME/Expert/Lead/Senior Developer in software development teams.
